MLB The Show 25 Reviews
MLB The Show 25 proves to be one of the best sports series currently available. San Diego Studio's game stands out for the main modes (Road To The Show and Diamond Dynasty above all). Also appreciable are the changes in batting and defense, while on the graphics front there is room for improvement.

The MLB The Show series is the premier baseball game each year. The on-field experience from franchise to RTTS are core things we as fans look forward to every year. Even though most of my time is spent in RTTS turning my player into a future hall of famer, the improvements in MLB The Show 25 gives the game a breath of fresh air. I love the new upgrade system in RTTS, I really feel like I have more control over my players growth. I am overjoyed that I can grind and upgrade my cards in Diamond Dynasty, and they will not have to be retired after a certain period.
MLB The Show 25 is superior to the previous edition. The developers weren't afraid to take risks, offering a complete overhaul of Diamond Dynasty mode. It's now much more interesting, especially in single-player mode. On the other hand, the Road to the Show mode is a little more immersive, notably with the integration of the school course. I'd have liked to see more depth here, so as not to have the impression that it's a secondary addition. The gameplay has also been revised, and will take some getting used to in order to understand the strikes, which can often behave randomly. This is an element that has little impact in solo play, but which may clearly bother players who like to compete online. All in all, the game remains a benchmark in the field, and the San Diego team must continue in this direction.

If you already played The Show franchise, the answer is simple: it's worth it. The changes in Road to the Show have transformed the mode into something truly fun, Storylines continues to be a historical gem within sports games and the Road to October and Franchise modes each bring, in their own way, the pains and pleasures of each team's seasons.

Sony San Diego may not have made the most groundbreaking improvements with MLB The Show 25, but they have once again delivered a solid sports game that, thanks to its presentation, soundtrack, diverse game modes, fluid gameplay, and more, could very well be the best sports game on the market—an absolute must-play for baseball fans.

MLB The Show 25 builds on its strong foundation with improvements like ShowTech animation, Ambush Hitting, and the challenging GOAT difficulty.
It’s quite possible that Sony don’t think they need MLB The Show 25 to be a huge departure – after two years of adding in some cool new features, this may be the year they decided to coast a little. And, I mean, why not? Even a forgettable version of MLB The Show still delivers a best-in-class baseball experience. It makes it hard to recommend if you picked up the last few years’ editions, but if you’ve taken a year or two off, it might be time to jump back in.
MLB: The Show 25 is a must-have for baseball fans. Players who are passionate about MLB games and know the rules of this sport will be thrilled. It’s a shame though that the developers at San Diego Studio didn’t make more of an effort to draw in people who haven’t previously engaged with this sport. The lack of a good tutorial might discourage many players from diving into the very realistic and challenging gameplay model. However, if you manage to break through that barrier, there’s a lot of great fun waiting for you.

The standard established by the franchise once again proves strong and healthy in MLB The Show 25. The changes to the game modes were essential to revitalize precisely what was needed, despite Franchise and March to October starting to fall a little behind. As for gameplay, once again we have a title that embraces both newcomers and veterans, offering accessible levels of challenge that reward those who dedicate themselves.

MLB: The Show 25 is a better game than its predecessor, capable of gripping the player more quickly and making it easier to enjoy. The two main game modes are much more fun and even the stagnant graphics don't detract from them.

MLB The Show 25 doesn’t revolutionize the franchise, but it makes meaningful strides in gameplay, realism, and historical storytelling. The introduction of GOAT difficulty and Ambush Hitting refines the on-field action, while Road to the Show’s high school start adds new layers of depth. The removal of sets and seasons in Diamond Dynasty makes it more accessible, and the return of Negro League Storylines continues to be a standout feature.
MLB The Show 25 perfectly emulates the atmosphere and experience of visiting a baseball game. The presentation of the menus and the large amount of animations make for a cool end result. However, the long history and the hardcore fan base make it a game that you don't just jump into. But if you are willing to really get to know the sport and put in the time, then this is the baseball game to pick up. It gives a nice glimpse into the world of one of America's favorite sports and makes you suddenly want a tasty hot dog.

As part of their annual releases, they continue to work to ensure MLB The Show has enough new features to make it worthwhile to continue buying. Although it's not available on PC, if you own any of the consoles it's available on, it's worth a try.

MLB The Show 25 sets new standards in the baseball genre. The gameplay is stronger than ever thanks to better animations and realistic mechanics. Franchise Mode and Road to the Show offer more depth and freedom, while Diamond Dynasty shines with the new Diamond Quest mode. However, the graphics fall short of expectations, microtransactions are tiresome and some features such as carryover saves and online franchises are still missing. Nevertheless: The best MLB The Show of all time and a must-have for baseball fans.
