With Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater, Konami has achieved what it set out to do: breathe new life into a classic while keeping it as authentic as possible. With that in mind, its only real faults are some mechanics which now feel a little awkward and dated. The visuals here are phenomenal, bringing more nuance to the game's cutscenes, and the new modern play style is great for newcomers and those annoyed by the restrictive camera of the original game.
Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater is a fantastic game because the title it's based on is splendid. Konami offers excellent graphics in this new version. The only problem is that there was room to modernize elements of the original game while still maintaining respect for the work, but the developer decided to play safe. So too are all the figurines to hunt and the jokes, visual or otherwise, that pull you out of the world and shoot the immersion, like The End with its sniper rifle. What remains is nostalgia and solid production values.

As a remake, Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater remains very faithful in many respects. The story is mostly unchanged, level layouts feel familiar, and signature moments have been masterfully updated, but fans of the original release may feel as though the modernisation changes the game too much.
Metal Gear Solid 3 Snake Eater is a historic game that brought together all the elements of a successful game, including a great story, interconnected gameplay systems, and excellent level design. These elements created a great combination that made it the best part of the series and one of the best games in history. However, as for the Delta version, despite my great admiration for its fidelity to the original game and the excellent improvements to the controls and user interface, I still find it insufficient compared to the remakes of this era. More effort could have been put into developing it to make it a better and more modern experience, rather than just being a new version of the third installment like Subsistence.
