The improvements come at a cost in performance, and on a PC with an RTX 4070, you'll need to opt for 1440p and simultaneously enable DLSS if you want a generally (but not always) stable 60 frames per second without sacrificing the quality of the Ultra preset.

Killing Floor 3 offers a fun and chaotic shooting experience, with bloody cutscenes and powerful audio that makes every encounter exciting. However, it's marred by a weak story, soulless bosses, and a cumbersome progression that relies on repetition. Its technical issues also diminish the desired immersion. For beginners, it may be a fun, instant-filled co-op game, but for veterans, it feels more like a sideways step than a true evolution of the series.

Killing Floor 3 is intense, bloody, and addictive, but it still feels incomplete. It's a great start, but it doesn't quite deliver the expected leap forward for the franchise. If you have friends to play regularly, you'll have fun—the visceral gunplay remains some of the most satisfying in the genre. But if you're planning on playing solo, or if you're hoping for the same variety Killing Floor 2 had after years of content, you might want to wait. The foundation is solid. It remains to be seen whether Tripwire will consistently update to make Killing Floor 3 the successor fans truly expect.

Gameplay is fun, often chaotic, but it always feels fair. The difficulty can ramp up quickly on higher levels, but as long as you stick with your team and avoid wandering off, you should be fine. Also when playing multiplayer I never had any issues finding a team in matchmaking.

Killing Floor 3 is a blood-soaked good time that nails the essentials of co-op combat but struggles to build much beyond that. It is worth a spin with friends, especially if you loved the series before, but it still feels more like a polished iteration than a true evolution.

Killing Floor 3 offers more of the same: bloody, fast-paced cooperative action with a solid gameplay loop. It's polished and fun, especially in multiplayer mode, but it doesn't quite reach the level of a reinvention.

Killing Floor 3 is a solid return to form, great fun with friends, but less engaging solo. It still needs more content variety to truly shine.

Killing Floor 3 is a sequel that’s marred by uneven execution and puzzling design choices.

Killing Floor 3 improves on the previous game in ways fans will appreciate, with new weapons, characters, classes, and better monetization. However, said monetization remains fairly aggressive, and the game suffers from a purposeful lack of content, relying on future updates to feel whole. Like Killing Floor 2, it may be best experienced a few years down the line.

In the end; Killing Floor 3 gives fans more of what they expect from the series and despite some bugs; delivers enough fun to make it worth your time.

Killing Floor 3 is a decent night with friends and a weak successor. It chases trends that do not fit the series, ships with a campaign that does not shape the action, and leans on grind to stretch content that should have been deeper instead of longer. Fans will find flashes to enjoy. Most players will bounce to other co‑op shooters that respect their time.

Tripwire Interactive takes us back to its zombie apocalypse with Killing Floor 3, a game that seeks to reinvent its identity but still needs some polishing. I find it hard to admit that it failed to produce that frenzy characteristic of the franchise in me. I felt exhausted while waiting for something to complete the experience, but it never came. I understand that it has all the potential to mark a turning point in the franchise. Tripwire Interactive deserves a vote of confidence. I'm sure the team is taking notes from community discussions to establish a harmonious roadmap that will finally establish Killing Floor 3.

Killing Floor 3 delivers a strong co-op experience centred on six defined perks, versatile weapon mods, and enemy AI with sharper movement.

Besides its shallow story, the gameplay enjoyed some good intensity during its moments of fast-paced escape and exploration. Dropping through a sunwindow and zipling down an elevator shaft while an entire horde fell from above was a thrilling feeling, especially knowing that some could sneak up on us from behind and ruin our run. However, the enjoyment ends there once you get into the game's incredibly superficial weapon progression and advancement mid-wave. Though the previous games had brief or no pauses between rounds, giving a tense moment to purchase new weapons before the zeds ate us, Killing Floor 3’s weapons felt ultimately generic and pointless, with the highest tier of weapons doing slightly more damage.

Killing Floor 3 is a totally decent horde zombie shooter that won’t make your jaw drop with revolutionary mechanics or over-the-top fun, but in today’s chronic drought of games like this, it’s a small light at the end of the tunnel -even if that tunnel is a bit wrecked and not in the best shape.

Killing Floor 3 is a good game, flaws aside. In fact, in its best games, it still manages to deliver the same adrenaline, cooperation, and bloody thrills as it did in the past. But it's also a product that seems to be chasing modern trends—monetization, battle passes, seasonal content—to the detriment of the arcade purity that made the series so beloved. If you're playing with a group of friends and looking for a PvE experience filled with chaos and monsters, Killing Floor 3 has a lot to offer. But if you were expecting a sequel faithful to the spirit of the second installment, you might be disappointed by a whole series of systems and subsystems that, overall, weigh down the overall gaming experience.

Killing Floor 3 might feel a little bare bones at present, but there's still plenty to enjoy when you're blowing off zed's body parts with your friends.

Considering Killing Floor 3's core premise, the game is a success: fighting waves of monstrous enemies using powerful weapons and gadgets is always fun, especially with a well-coordinated squad. The problem is that, despite offering good variety at first, things become repetitive and uninspiring over time. It's a good suggestion for FPS fans or players who enjoy more hardcore cooperative games.

If Tripwire wants to salvage this, it will take more than patches. It will require humility, serious reworking of core systems, and a willingness to actually listen to the community that helped build this franchise in the first place. But until that happens, Killing Floor 3 is nothing more than a cautionary tale about how not to follow up a cult hit.
