Chip ‘n Clawz vs. The Brainioids Reviews
Fun colorful game that blends third-person action with real-time strategy.
One of the most unique and fun strategy games to come out in recent years, Chip ‘n Clawz vs. The Brainioids is worth checking out for adventurous gamers. Whether you’re looking to have fun solo, co-op, or competitively, it has you covered.
Chips 'n Clawz vs. The Brainioids has big ideas for the strategy genre, but it doesn't quite pull it off. I still think it's worth playing if you're interested in an easily digestible, save-the-world-from-aliens strategy romp.
Chip ‘n Clawz vs. The Brainioids brings a wonderful combination of action and real-time strategy with its gameplay. The difficulty can be a bit much at times, but the challenge will more than likely keep gamers coming back for more.
Chip n' Claws vs. The Brainioids is a fun mashup of RTS and action gameplay. It does have a fun gameplay loop, though it can be a bit overwhelming.
Overall I think what I enjoyed most about my time with Chip 'n Clawz was that it is trying something different. I can tell it's not for me, and I can only imagine playing it again when I have some mates over – but I have a lot of time for games that contribute to the evolution of a genre. I would recommend giving it a go if you have ever been a fan of RTS, just to appreciate the novelty – or if you want an accessible entry into the genre. But you might need to be more familiar with MOBAs and Fortnite, and more open to the aesthetic than myself to love it.
Compared to other RTS titles, Chip 'n Clawz vs. The Brainioids may evolve in accessibility, player count, and systems, but its unwavering focus on real-time strategy remains the true soul of the genre.

You may be tempted to look the other way but don’t, because underneath the somewhat cheesy exterior of Chip ‘n Clawz vs. The Brainioids is a highly entertaining and accessible strategy action hybrid.
Chip 'n Clawz vs. The Brainioids is a fine game overall. Despite some control issues with the strategy portions, the mixture of third-person action with RTS elements works thanks to the approach of simplicity over complexity. The campaign lasts for a decent amount of time, with collectibles and the quest for a five-star rating giving you a reason to replay the stages. Versus mode works fine, while the addition of split-screen play gives the game some legs if you're having a tough time finding anyone to play with online. Chip 'n Clawz has a few quirks, but it is a fun experience for those looking for a title that's a little more involved than running and bashing in small arenas.
Chip 'n Clawz vs. The Brainioids is one of those genre-blenders that does everything so well that you'll end up absolutely smitten with it. 🤖
Chip ‘n Clawz vs. The Brainioids isn’t a massive, sprawling epic—it’s a mid-sized game with a clever hook. The fusion of action and RTS works, the humor lands more often than not, and the comic-book world is a joy to explore. But the short campaign and lack of multiplayer bots keep it from truly shining as a long-term staple. If you’re looking for something fresh, colorful, and co-op friendly, this is easy to recommend—especially if you have a buddy for couch co-op. If you’re buying solely for PvP, though, you may want to wait for updates or a larger player base.
Chip ‘n Clawz vs. The Brainioids definitely feels like it could be one in a series of games. But this being just the first, I would say it is worthwhile checking out. It runs well on PC, Steam Deck, and is available for PS5 and Xbox. It’s a beautiful 3D action adventure with a flair of strategic management. If anything, maybe more focus on keeping up with your strategy could be in order. Maybe that’s just me. Definitely deserving of the Thumb Culture Gold Award.
Chip ‘n Clawz vs. The Brainioids is a delightful blend of action and strategy that doesn’t take itself too seriously. With its playful story, colourful world, and flexible gameplay, it’s a great pick for families, co-op sessions, or anyone just looking for a good upbeat time. It may not present itself as overly deep and thought-provoking, but sometimes, that’s exactly what you need.
Chip ‘n Clawz vs. The Brainioids is a chaotic, colourful mashup of RTS and action that’s easy to pick up and hard to forget. It’s not perfect; some design quirks and accessibility gaps hold it back, but its charm, creativity, and sheer fun factor make it a standout experience. Whether you’re storming alien bases or farming Brainium with bots, it encourages experimentation and rewards strategic play. If you’re after a game that lets you build, bash, and blast your way through a comic-book galaxy, this one’s worth a look.
Chip' n Clawz vs. The Brainioids is best suited for individuals who want to try something new and exciting. People who like RTS games might think it's too easy, and people who like action games might want the fighting to be more intense.
Chip N Clawz vs The Brainioids is like pineapple on pizza. Two things that shouldn’t go together, but pair surprisingly well once you give it a chance. Gameplay is a harmonious blend of RTS and Third Person Action. It gets bundled with an aesthetic that appears to be heavily inspired by Ratchet and Clank and a tone that brings some serious 90’s Saturday morning cartoon energy. Just like Pineapple Pizza, it’s not perfect, and it’s not for everyone, but it’s a nice change of pace.
Chip 'n Clawz vs. The Brainoids is an enjoyable RTS that blends with different genres to make an enjoyable game filled with a colourful world.
