Super Mario Bros. Wonder: Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Meetup in Bellabel Park feels like the definitive version of one of the best modern Mario games. While returning players might have hoped for more new content, what’s here is polished, creative, and a lot of fun. If you missed the original release, this is an easy recommendation.

Overall, Super Mario Bros. Wonder – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Meetup in Bellabel Park builds on the solid foundation of what made the original title so popular and expands the formula with significant new content—as long as, as always, you have friends to fully “unlock” every drop of entertainment

Super Mario Bros. Wonder is already a great game, and its Switch 2 upgrade only makes it better with cleaner visuals. Meetup in Bellabel Park, though, feels a lot less essential. Some content, like the challenge stages in Toad Brigade Training Camp, has fun ideas, but the bulk of the expansion is short-lived minigames and remixes of previous levels. It’s still a nice excuse to replay the game, but most of what’s new doesn’t stick for long or feels like it truly adds much.

Super Mario Wonder hasn’t gotten any worse and is still just as fun as it was at release. However, Meetup in Bellabel Park focuses on a casual gamer audience and offers very little beyond that. Those who already own the original and enjoy playing together with friends on the couch might find some enjoyment in it. On the other hand, players primarily interested in the main game will get more levels per euro with the Switch 1 version without the add-on. The pricing of Switch 2 games also remains a topic of discussion.

I stand by it – Super Mario Bros. Wonder is a masterpiece and the best 2D Mario of all time. However, the upgrade isn’t worth the extra cost. In many ways, it feels like Nintendo only did the bare minimum to justify this Switch 2 edition.

Super Mario Bros. Wonder – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Let's Go to Belabel Park functions as a competent update, bringing improvements and content that expand upon what already existed, but without significantly changing the overall experience. The new activities and additional modes offer fun moments, especially in multiplayer, but often stumble on simplicity or the reuse of previously seen ideas. The technical improvements and accessibility features are welcome, albeit basic, and help to make the package more complete. In the end, it's a pleasant and functional version, but one that is hardly essential for those who have already explored the original adventure, serving more as a complement than as an evolution.

Super Mario Bros. Wonder Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Meetup at Bellabel Park definitely brings the party play back to the game but its story content is short lived. However, there’s some great fun to be had here for both its online and local play modes, even if it can feel restrictive at times.

Super Mario Bros. Wonder is a Nintendo masterpiece, capable of delighting players of all ages and even those who don't even play video games. The Belabel expansion introduces lots of fun content, but I would have loved to have seen more levels to the original experience.

The Super Mario Bros. Wonder Switch 2 Edition is the definitive version of the 2023 hit, adding 4K clarity and the social-heavy Bellabel Park DLC. Featuring new mini-games, Rosalina as a playable character, and family-friendly additions like Assist Mode, it’s a must-buy for newcomers and social players, despite minor visual upgrades and familiar progression hurdles.

Super Mario Bros. Wonder – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Meetup in Bellabel Park is a fine offering from Nintendo, but it's another Switch 2 title offering an upgrade with not enough substance.
