The Adventures of Elliot - The Millennium Tales is a well made Zelda clone with charming presentation and superb controls. For my linkings the riddles could be more challenging and the fights less simplistic, especially regarding the bosses. But The Adventures of Elliot possesses a special quality that I care far more about than for spotless puzzle and combat design: it flows like a dream. I can get so lost in exploring these lands, filling the map and finishing dungeons that I lose my sense of time.

The combat is fun, the world is stunning and well designed, and the visual design is genuinely impressive. When everything clicks, it feels like a modern take on classic RPG structure done right. For me it felt like going back in time to the release of Zelda.

In times when The Legend of Zelda goes open-world sandbox and the Ys series becomes more and more JRPG, a classic action-adventure in the vein of The Legend of Zelda and Secret of Mana is truly welcome. With 30 to 50 hours, depending on how much you explore the world of Philabieldia and its clever time travel mechanic and urge to explore, The Legend of Elliot earns its place among the classics.

Despite my frustrations, by the end, I just couldn’t find myself to truly dislike The Adventure of Elliot: The Millennium Tales as a whole. It just has too much heart, and I see a lot of room for improvement.
The Adventures of Elliot has so much untapped potential that it becomes frustrating even just talking about it: every single aspect of the game seems to have been designed without taking the others into account, but somehow the whole manages to be incredibly coherent with itself .

It is not without some problems, but it ultimately delivers 20+ hours of fun and a wonderful story to experience. The combat is simple, the world is layered and very rich in a variety of locales. Not to mention the music being just as good as every HD-2D thus far. This game is absolutely worth every second you play in it. I could not recommend it enough, as it offers just a simple, warm, and fun adventure.
