Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen Reviews
What you essentially have here is a definitive edition of one seriously amazing action RPG. Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen manages to live in the same vein as the Souls, sporting the darkness and challenges so many players have come to desire, yet forges an identity all its own.
Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen is an incredible game. The amount of content is incredible. The ability to control and mix up your character at any time is incredible. The variety in not only location but weapons, armor, and items are incredible. The ability to jump and grab a giant enemy, scaling it to stab it in the face while it thrashes about is incredible. You get it, now if you're a fan of Fantasy RPG, saving the kingdoms from dragons and demons, and extremely satisfying gameplay from nearly every aspect, buy Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen.
While its gameplay can become slightly monotonous, Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen still has the power to amaze with the scale of its world and its brilliant boss battles against legendary creatures.
Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen arrives on Nintendo's portable console, warts and all. It's more than worth playing, if only for the combat alone, and it's one of the best mediocre games ever made. If you long for the feelings of adventure that often only come when imagining a good Dungeons and Dragons campaign, this should be up your alley.
It's always a nice feeling to wander across the vast plains and the ominous dungeons of Gransys during a large amount of hours, for the first time on a portable device here. Sadly, the low visuals and the technical issues of the handheld mode are kind of a bummer, the TV experience being as enjoyable as the previous editions of the game.

Smooth performance makes all the difference for this game, exposing its true brilliance.
Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen is a worthy memorial to a criminally underrated title, and although it falters at times, the design, combat, scenery, and world this game molds is one that deserves preservation.
Dragon's Dogma on PC is the best version of the game. It's charming and fun as the day it came out but this time at a higher resolution and better frame rate. The game engine shows its age but it's not enough to make this game less of a masterpiece.
Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen has already been released a handful of times on different consoles, and this port doesn't add anything new. The ability to play in handheld mode is great, but this version also comes with some pop-in and framerate drops not present in other releases. Still, it's worth it just to experience one of the most overlooked games of the decade again, or for the first time. If Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen's stellar combat, unique class system, and treacherous world hook you, its technical flaws are extremely easy to overlook.
Discover the world of Gransys on the go in this great port of a cult classic.
Dragon's Dogma is about killing monsters and not really caring about the reason why.
Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen gives players a realm of exciting grand battles against challenging enemies, but offers little narrative reason to make it appealing.
Extremely faithful remaster (or rather PC port) of one of the best games of the previous generation in the RPG genre. Amazing combat system, spectacular magic, great difficulty. Sadly, it's only in 30 FPS.

I'd recommend this game on any platform, but the PC version is overall the best in my experience. Well worth adding to your RPG library.
I cannot help but smile every time I think about Dragon's Dogma.
Whilst not every aspect of the game completely works, and players searching for an epic fantasy narrative may be left cold, the deep combat and exciting exploration kept me hooked the whole way through.
Dragon's Dogma stands the test of time and is excellently recreated on Switch.
Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen on Nintendo Switch shows the title has certainly aged. While the visuals are not on par with other titles, it still has plenty of moments that will appeal to hardcore RPG fans. Given the amount of time players can invest, Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen retains its charm despite shortcomings. Though, if you don't care about the portable aspect, the Xbox One, PC and PlayStation 4 versions will give you a better overall experience.
Dragon's Dogma Dark Arisen is good today as it was back in 2012, as it's still a unique take on the open world action rpg genre. We would have liked some new content and 60 fps, but at a bargain price, it's still recommended.
