Dragon's Dogma 2: Dark Arisen Reviews
The expansion focuses primarily on exploring the landscape and engaging in numerous battles, which will quickly boost your level. You will certainly need these level-ups'along with relics that provide powerful gear'to stand a chance against the tenacious Northerners and mythological bosses found in the new region. However, the quests are not particularly engaging, and the action comes at the expense of the narrative.

Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen is an excellent expansion that significantly improves the overall experience, refining a game that, despite receiving strong post-launch support, still had several flaws and needed more substantial changes.

Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen isn’t perfect, but it is the kind of DLC that manages to transform a familiar game into a new experience. It’s a must-play adventure for anyone who enjoyed the original game and a fantastic reason to step back into the shoes of the Arisen. Capcom continues to prove that it’s on a roll.

Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen won me over with the freedom to turn an ordinary journey into an unpredictable adventure. The vocations make combat varied, the monsters invite experimentation, and the terrain plays a role in fights in a way few games manage to replicate. The elven village and a cyclops used as a bridge are precisely the kinds of memories that linger long after you’ve turned off the console.

Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen is an engrossing expansion full of interesting new characters, vibrant enemies, and the wonderful wreckage of a bygone civilization.
I might like this softened version of the game a little less than I did before, but even if some of its prickly nature has been smoothed over, Dark Arisen still offers a whole bunch more of what I loved about Dragon’s Dogma 2 in the first place.
Dragon's Dogma 2: Dark Arisen is a brand-new expansion to Capcom's recent action RPG, giving players new challenges and systems.
Dragon's Dogma 2 is still one of the best action RPGs around. The game getting a second chance at life with a massive string of updates alongside an expansion that gives me a reason to spend more time in the world and offers up some of its most challenging moments is cause for celebration enough. It running on the Switch 2 as well as it does when even the PS5 struggled is testament to just how Capcom is proving to be one of the best developers for the console.
Dark Arisen is Dragon’s Dogma 2 at its most ambitious and gloriously unrestrained.
Capcom solidifies its position as the company, aside from Nintendo, that is making the most of the Switch 2 : we have games running at 40, 60, and 90 fps, each with options and settings so we can enjoy them to the fullest. And this Dragon's Dogma 2 update seems like a real success...

Capcom compromises its unique RPG with new DLC.
Dark Arisen doesn't completely overturn Dragon's Dogma 2, but it seems to know where to focus to enhance its strengths.

Dragon's Dogma 2: Dark Arisen is a meaningful improvement over the base game. The narrative is structured much better, the characters are more likable, the region is vast and full of content, and the Relic gameplay loop is quite addictive. That said, the combat remains a chaotic, unorganized mess that feels fun but also lacks any tactical element.
Dragon's Dogma 2: Dark Arisen is often Capcom's open world RPG at its absolute peak. It's one hell of a meaty expansion, delivering a surprisingly involved story, joyous exploration, and deeply compelling combat. A transformative DLC.
Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen might not be the ultimate expansion, but it is a substantial one.
2013's Dark Arisen managed to transform a flawed game into its definitive version. This new chapter, however, leaves us with a solid but uncouth addition, one that sacrifices part of the series' identity without offering an equally strong concept in return.

Dragon's Dogma 2: Dark Arisen expands the content available to players, and you'll probably have a good time - but as enjoyable as my time was, I can't help but consider how this feels less like an expansion of what the original game was, but rather a restriction into a far more narrow scope of RPG.
Dragon's Dogma 2: Dark Arisen is a fine expansion that lengthens the base game to a comfortable degree without being overwhelming. While some jank and difficulty remain, it's clear things have improved in more ways than one.
