With LucasArts reduced to a licensor under Disney at this point, Day of the Tentacle Remastered serves as a sobering reminder of the brand’s storied past as a home for some of the most talented storytellers and developers in the gaming industry. Overflowing with buckets of self-aware humor and charm, and bringing the beloved point-and-click cartoon adventure into gorgeous HD, this should be a priority for both fans of the original game as well as anyone looking to play an important and influential part of gaming history. While not all of the game stands toe-to-toe with modern expectations — with some puzzles remaining obnoxiously hard to figure out and voiceover volume that’s sometimes inconsistent — the vast majority of this Maniac Mansion sequel passes the old “test of time” with flying colors.
Day of the Tentacle Remastered isn't just a simple port, it's also an amazing achievement in its own right. The new visuals are gorgeous, and the gameplay has been updated to be streamlined, yet still stay true to the original. Double Fine have outdone themselves here.
After 25 years Day of the Tentacle is still a brilliant game. Irresistible, ironical, with an outstanding style and an amazing screenplay. Double Fine did a great job with the remastering process, modernizing every aspect of the game.

Day of the Tentacle Remastered is a Mr. Game, able both to please the old grumblers like me, and to bring younger players closer to a genre that has unfortunately become niche. The remaster of 1993's Day of the Tentacle adds new graphics and a great commentary track to one of the most beloved adventure games from the genre's golden age.
I still adore this game. It’s still the smartest, most elegant, most entertaining adventure game ever made. And now, if you want, it looks new and sounds amazing.
Day of the Tentacle is a classic, and this remastered version is a great way for old fans to see the time-hopping adventure looking its best. Hopefully, it’ll also give a new generation of players a chance to experience all of the silliness for themselves.
Double Fine has done another great on remastering a classic, delicately updating it in such a way that what stood out in 1993 stands out all over again more than 20 years later.
Day of the Tentacle: Remastered is a fantastic update of the original. What has needed to be updated has been, without losing the charm and cleverness of the original.
With 15 euros you'll have on your PC, PlayStation 4 or PS Vita a piece of gaming history as best you could hope with new graphics, unreleased extras and e well made new interface.

A piece of the universal history of video games. Well-made remastering of the classic 1993 game. If you played it, go for it. If you didn't play it, go for it. If you're thinking about it, go for it. It can not be missing in your catalog.

While nowhere near as ambitious an undertaking as Grim Fandango Remastered, there is obviously a lot of love and care that has gone into Day of the Tentacle Remastered. There are most certainly still the same old gameplay warts that came from that era of gaming that don’t really translate well and some minor rough edges to the remaster, but it’s well preserved and the updates to presentation are marvellous. This is definitely a revamped classic worth a look.
A great graphic adventure that returns in style with improved graphics, but with all the hallmarks that made it popular in the 90s. Do not think about it and let yourself be conquered by the Purple Tentacle.

Day of the Tentacle remastered is an excellent way to feed your 90s soul with good, nonsensical fun. The remastered graphics capture the cartoonish charm of the original perfectly, yet the updated sound and controls give it a much more modern feel. They managed to capture the original spirit of the game while still smoothing over any bumps that may have cropped up due to its age. I’m glad I had a chance to play it through this lens, and I’d definitely recommend for any fans of this genre to give it a go, or for old fans of the game to relive the experience in a shinier fashion.
LucasArts' 1993 adventure game has aged incredibly well, making for an incredible experience for newcomers and veterans alike. Add in a host of great extras and upgrades, and it's hard to think of how this Remastered edition could possibly be better.
It's easy to see why so many people look back at this game so fondly.
