Bioshock was the game that set the bar for first person shooters last generation, and this collection proved that even after several years of good first-person shooter titles, nothing can really compare to that original trip to Rapture.

The mileage of the remastered games will vary depending on what previous players are looking for, but it’s hard to argue against the value for money in BioShock: The Collection in terms of sheer content, especially for those who have never experienced the critically acclaimed series before.

If you haven’t played Bioshock before, this is truly a masterpiece of collection. It includes three great action games, and especially the first two is still outstanding. Howerer, Bioshock: The Collection doesn’t really offer anything new. It would have been more than welcome with more content for those that already have played through the series.

It wasn’t until I played so closely to the previous two games that I truly understood just how good and improved Bioshock Infinite was as a game

Whether you’re new to the series, or a returning veteran, there is almost no excuse to not pick up BioShock: The Collection. It contains some of the very best games ever made in the past decade, and they’re all still well worth playing today.

As a whole, the collection is great for newcomers and fans alike. You’re getting three for the price of one. People, what’s not to like?

For anyone that missed these games, this collection is a no-brainer. For those that left their old consoles behind, this is a great package that delivers these games how you remember them. Outside of a few technical hiccups this collection is up there as one of the best of this generation. All three games are worth playing, and returning to them only solidifies how much I truly want a new BioShock.

Bioshock the Collection is a great trip down memory lane and if you have never played these games before, it’s a must have title on the PlayStation 4 because of all the content. Best of all, the gameplay still works well today, including the graphics and outstanding audio. With interesting heroes, villains and characters that you encounter, this ‘remastered’ edition of the Bioshock series is worth having and hopefully this will inspire another Bioshock game in the near future.

Bioshock: The Collection takes three good to great games and does right by them by providing excellent visuals and all of the extra content for those who want to get even more out of the experience. It is surprising just how well the series holds up today - a testament to the original game design.

Even when the stories drop the ball, the allegories make them invaluable parables for this year in particular.

Collectively, (if you pardon the pun) the BioShock Collection offers a TON of single-player content. Seriously, if you’re the gamer who prefers single-player to multiplayer then this collection has a massive amount of content on offer. Not only do you get the hugely praised single-player of all three base games, you will also get all the additional single-player content that all three games offer.

The games are probably a bit too young to be considered retro or nostalgic, (Infinite is only three years old), but they do bring with them a lot of fond memories. If you’ve never played them before, the series feels fresh and new. As a set the games compliment each other and, while not a trilogy, the stories are intertwined – even if only by a common idea. This collection may become a must have for new console owners.

The first Bioshock is considered one of the most significant games in the last generation. The sequel is fun, but not as good as the first one, and “Infinite” is a great conclusion for the series. While it’s sad to see this remastered collection suffers technically in all of the platforms, it’s still your chance to play an unforgettable series!

At a reduced price, Blind Squirrel offers a complete edition of the Bioshock trilogy, with all additional content released so far: the offer is attractive for old and new fans, enriched with many graphical improvements: finally Rapture can be explored at 60 frames per second on consoles too.

Picking up BioShock: The Collection for just two shining, flawed stars would still be a good idea.

If you are a PS4 or Xbox One owner, Bioshock: The Collection should be in your, um, collection, whether in the 2-disc physical format or digital download. Unfortunately, I’ve read reports that the PC version has issues. (Like bad ones.) As such PC players should wait for the (fingers crossed) eventual patches.

If you have a PS4 or Xbox One, BioShock: The Collection is the best way to experience the series if you never played them before. For existing fans on consoles, it’s a convenient compendium for a series that’s begging for a new entry.

With three great games and additional content that some would say is even better, The BioShock Collection is worth picking up for pretty much anybody interested, be they existing fans of totally fresh to the series. Despite some annoyances, each game runs better and looks better than ever before, and the content to price ratio is more than favorable.
