Worms W.M.D Reviews
20 years and countless games later, Team 17 rediscovers some of the old magic for Worms.
Worms WMD is a dependable soldier when it comes to laugh-out-loud competitive warfare. It may not have flashy 3D graphics or big-budget actors reenacting huge battles, but its cartoony 2D conflicts are a fun way to test your combat prowess with some weird and wacky weapons.
Worms W.M.D. marks a return to form for the classic turn-based strategy series.
Minor gripes aside, Worms W.M.D is a great addition to the long-running series! Combining new features like vehicles and crafting with the original 2D design is a great way to update the series while still keeping the old-school flavor. As a result, Worms WMD is sure to satisfy fans of the series and hopefully lure in a new generation of players.
There really isn't a whole lot more to say about Worms W.M.D. If you've skipped over the last few Worms games but pine for the nostalgic feeling of ripping apart cute little critters across a gigantic map with precision bank shots, you'll be able to relive those memories here. Especially so if you love Armageddon, which this one is trying hard to emulate.
Worms W.M.D comes to Nintendo Switch, making it portable and able to adapt to our daily lifes. Besides, it has new content compared to the previous versions of this game.

In contrast to recent games, Worms WMD feels more like the classic Worms titles with its explosive mayhem and tongue-in-cheek humour. Vehicles, turrets, and crafting all freshen up the formula somewhat, while the new 2D art direction mixed with the classic simplistic structure of Worms campaigns make for a welcome and familiar experience. Still, there’s not much out there quite like Worms and Worms WMD is a great rendition of that explosive madness.
Team 17's famous worms come back again with one of their best action and strategy installments. This 2D game features lots of improvements and a nostalgic touch that will be liked by most of the players.

Worms W.M.D. still as fun as it was in other systems, but adds this "mobile" style thanks to the portable options of Nintendo Switch. A great option to play with our friends, with interesting new features.

Faithful to the Worms tradition, the new Team 17 title, with its bizarre new weapons and vehicles, manages to be a fun experience even in the crafting mechanics aren't the most user friendly out there.

Loading times are a minor niggle though, and while the single player does fall a little bit flat it does a good job of educating you on weapon usage and game mechanics. But, let's face it, multiplayer is where Worms has always shined and it's no different here. Get a bunch of friends together and duke it out; it gets a bit chaotic with more than four people playing, but with friends chaos is fun.
The same old Worms gameplay you’ve seen many times before, with bolder animations, new weapons and added vehicles.
Featuring enough new stuff to bring back longtime fans, Worms W.M.D is another great entry in the 20 year old franchise. The game doesn't reinvent the formula that has worked so well, but it does refine it in a number of important ways. With new weapons, vehicles, and visuals, Worms W.M.D should please anyone looking for an old school turn-based strategy game.
While Worms W.M.D. might evoke the halcyon days of Armageddon, it’s more than capable of standing on its own as another high point for the series.
Worms WMD is a breath of fresh air for the Worms franchise, introducing several new gameplay elements that compliment the series' trademark 2D gameplay nicely.
Worms is a timeless classic that finds the perfect home on Switch. One of the best episodes in the series, to play on the go. What could go possibly wrong? Nothing! Another must have for the new Nintendo console. This version has some exclusive content, soon-to-be released on other platforms as well.

Over the years Worms has tried a few times to freshen up its franchise by changing the formula a bit, sprinkling in 3D, and other gimmicks. Worms WMD is a back to the basics effort that proves the original formula is the best one. There is nothing broken about the gameplay. While it could use an injection of pace, it delivers a great experience both offline and in online multiplayer.
Worms W.M.D. is great re-entry point for people like me who have sort of fallen off the wagon with the series over time. It keeps what I remember, and refines what I had issues with. The hilarity is still there, the solid game play shines above the rest, and it feels good to be back.
Worms W.M.D. brings the franchise back with new bells and whistles to spice the game up.
