While Prey's influences aren't hard to miss, the game maintains its own identity. Prey brings the best of sci-fi to the table and offers plenty of replayability.

Prey is a bold entry in sci-fic genre of first person shooters that takes inspiration from classics like System Shock. Despite a lackluster combat system, the game offers plenty of exciting moments with its brilliantly designed inter-connected world of Talos 1 that is a joy to explore.

Prey managed to bring a very unique science fiction escapade and a lot of fresh ideas at the same time which makes it stands out over other games for the time being.

Now an answer to the question of whether this Prey reboot has become a gift for the gamer. On this you will receive a resounding "yes" from us. A unique story is mixed with a lot of positive aspects from other games. The end product is a space station in which you can lose yourself because of all the possibilities you have in mind.

Prey's level design is one of the best I have ever experienced, and it is a result of the overall gameplay, physical level design, atmosphere, and sound that make it extraordinary

Rich and full of ideas, Prey is another great work from Arkane Studios, showing once more that they are on par with the biggest development studios around. Great mood and screenwriting, players will find a Metroidvania game mixing horror and science fiction influences, and can handle action, stealth and survival mechanics without trying to hard.

Though it lives a little too comfortably in the shadows of its influences, Prey is a quality horror-action game

Arkane Studios made an excellent game, Prey is a pretty fun game to play in the dark. Taking the best from a couple famous games and adding something unique into the mix. In short, buying and playing Prey is something you won’t regret!

I really, really enjoyed Prey. A pitch perfect marriage of Science-Fiction and Horror, Prey is close to what I imagine a modern, FPS Dead Space would be like, with a liberal helping of System Shock sauce sprinkled on top.

Prey is a great survival horror FPS that inherits the best elements from Bioshock and Dishonored, and although it does not reinvent the genre, it features well-polished mechanics that deliver a high level challenge for players.

Prey's dynamic gameplay adapts beautifully to players as they explore an interesting space station crawling with bizarre alien life forms. Its involving action proves entertaining when combined with a solid base of resource management. Despite a few presentation problems and minor issues, Prey is one mind-altering trip that should be played by fans of the genre.

Prey presented the same key features that were a major reason for the success of previous Arkane studio games, such as absolute freedom in the style of gameplay, the list of skills with many choices, a world that is perfectly designed and rich in detail and hours of to roam and remunerative exploration, but there are other elements that have not been given the same quality like combat, the story that has lost its luster in the middle of the events, also suffering the futility of the stealth system or the existence of significant differences between the enemy factions.

Prey's space station is fantastically explorable and its shape-shifting enemies maintain tension when combat doesn't.

Prey is a collection of past influences - a bit of System Shock here, some Bioshock there, a bit of Dead Space - but the whole is something we don't get very much these days. With the twisting halls of Talos I, Prey gives you meaningful choices in your abilities, as the level design challenges you to find interesting ways forward. The game falters in combat, but overall, Prey is a wonderful love letter some older titles that are sorely missed.

Funny enough, I leave Prey happy and content with everyone's story but my own.

Rather than simply aping the superficial elements of its influences, Prey gets down to the core of what made them great and adds its own imaginative flare for good measure. While I may not remember its convoluted and potentially meaningless story, and can't forget soon enough its incredibly long load times on the PS4, I will always remember Prey's intricate level design, layered combat and the joy I got from exploring Talos I. Hopefully the day comes when I can say the same about Talos II.

Writing over our memories of the Prey that preceded it, Arkane Studios' game is something new and yet strikingly familiar. There's a great deal of kinship to the likes of Bioshock, Half-Life and other classic games, but it's also broader and more expansive in what it tries to do. Regardless of its flaws and similarities, Prey manages to be an enthralling science fiction adventure.
