Super Lucky's Tale Reviews
It's all such a disappointment. I very much wanted to like Lucky, because the Xbox could use a decent answer to Nintendo in the 3D platformer genre. Unfortunately, Super Lucky's Tale definitely isn't it.
Generous and inventive, this 3D platformer is filled with charm.
Bland, boring, and badly made – returning to the bad old days of low rent mascot platformers is not a good way to demonstrate the power of the Xbox One X.
Super Lucky's Tale isn't a direct port of its VR predecessor, but it's no less simplistic.
Despite all of the minor gameplay upgrades in Super Lucky's Tale, I actually had a better time playing as Lucky in VR last year. It was really cool to be able to "peek" around things and control the camera yourself, and despite all of the claims that "platformers don't benefit from VR" I couldn't disagree more. If stripping that is what Playful Corp needs to do to reach a bigger audience so be it, but a version with optional VR would have been ideal.
Almost every moment of Super Lucky's Tale allows for the pure joy of platforming when you aren't annoyed by its limited camera. It's worth noting that the main game is extremely short to beat, but there are enough optional levels, puzzles and collectables to complete that will easily double or even triple your time with it.
A complete and joyful platformer, recommended for the little ones or those who expect classic playability. Its lack of ideas and several technical constraints hamper its success.

Super Lucky's Tale is a charming and sweet indie platformer that provides hours of retro platforming joy. It's probably had far too much weight put upon its shoulders as the Xbox One X's sole launch title, and is by no means perfect; a fact that's been amplified by the recent antics of a dungaree-wearing plumber. However, while the genre has undoubtedly moved on, taken on its own merit Super Lucky's Tale is simple, inescapable fun.
Super Lucky´s Tale is a great platforming game that the fans of the genre will love, even though it is too easy for the experts. Its style and difficulty mean that this game is great for the kids and newcomers.

If you're looking for a game you can pick up and play, as well as making you smile, this is certainly one to consider.
Super Lucky's Tale is a very predictable 3D platformer. It checks all the boxes it needs to while drawing heavily on the genre's tentpole titles. Due to that derivative nature in conjunction with the title's very low difficulty and padded progression, Super Lucky's Tale is a hesitant recommendation, and only for the hardcore platformer fan. There is some laid-back fun here, but nothing about this title pushes the envelope in any substantial way, and won't be supremely appealing to a non-fan of the genre.

Super Lucky's Tale - not a bad, but too simple 3D-platformer for younger audience. Despite nice design, funny characters, high-quality localization and working mechanics, the project practically does not develop at all and it definitely lacks the variability, challenge and fresh ideas.

Super Lucky's Tale succeeds in several ways. For anyone looking for a quick and simple platforming break, or introducing their kids to the world of gaming, this charming, beautiful and largely competently designed world will likely keep you entertained throughout.
Super Lucky's Tale is simple yet engaging platform game that players of all ages can enjoy thanks to its pick-up-and-play experience. The game, however, may be too simple for some, and the easy and short experience may be a turn off for others, especially for those who have experienced other excellent platform games this year such as A Hat in Time and Super Mario Odyssey.
Super Lucky's Tale is the child-pleaser we've been looking for the Xbox One catalogue. An honest and modest title that never forgets that easy doesn't mean simple.
