Kirby Star Allies Reviews
True to the series' heritage, Kirby Star Allies asserts its apparent simplicity through a candid, somehow heartbreaking scenario, a vibrant artistic direction, and a sweet gameplay fundamentally built for conviviality, with ennemies that can also become skillful buddies once befriended. This amicable approach creates sympathetic cooperative operations and wonderful sequences of grouped transformations, but it results in a constrained, hence linear level design. While the new powers reveal interesting and potentially overpowerful teamwork synergies, those are only exploited into the rather short additional modes. More generosity, imagination and even boldness were expected from this moving, then ultimately nostalgic adventure.

Kirby Star Allies is an entertaining multiplayer game that's as Nintendo as they come. Played alone, it isn't as fun, though.
Fans will love Kirby Star Allies' cameos from every corner of the franchise, and new players will find the platforming imminently approachable. While this adventure may not be as deep as some of Kirby's 3DS outings, it sure does bring the joy.
Kirby Star Allies provides kinetic joy for one or more players and without a challenge which causes you to go blue in the face, ensuring its place in the Switch’s library as a platformer of choice.
Star Allies isn't bad, it's just dull. Perhaps that's worse.
Kirby Star Allies is a cute and chaotic traditional Kirby game with fantastic buddy AI and strong potential as a co-op experience. It pays fantastic homage to its roots while adding in new mechanics that work well. Unfortunately, the length of the experience will have some doubting whether it's truly worth it, but Kirby Star Allies is one of the most wholesome Switch games you can try right now.
While it has a lot of star power with all of its characters and abilities which are sure to please the hardcore Kirby fanbase, this new Switch adventure certainly won’t be winning any awards for innovation.
A wonderfully chilled out platformer perfect for those who just want to relax, also perfect for those who want to game with a partner who doesn't normally game. The easy to master controls and cutesy visuals are peak Nintendo and, while the game isn't very challenging, sometimes that is what is needed.
Kirby is back in a new platforming adventure and this time he’s bringing some friends along for the trip
If you have kids, Star Allies is as obvious a recommendation as they come- they will love to play it, either solo, or with you, and it will lead to some great times and memories for everybody. On the other hand, seasoned gamers and long time Kirby fans won't find much that is substantial here.
Kirby: Star Allies is an all-together pleasant game.
Does Kirby Star Allies do anything radically new? No, not really. But it is a full-fledged console Kirby title, something many of us have sorely longed for. It's a good single player experience to be sure, but truly comes into its own as a multi-player title. Like most things, Kirby Star Allies is just plain better with friends.
Kirby Star Allies is Nintendo at its best as HAL Laboratories create a truly enjoyable side-scrolling platformer which takes a classic gaming premise and transforms it into something enjoyable for old and new gamers alike that takes the genre to a new level. The controls work extremely well on this console and although single-player works well, Kirby Star Allies is far more entertaining with other players.
Kirby Star Allies is by far the easiest and shallowest game in the series, but is still an enjoyable experience, especially when played with friends.
Where Mario Odyssey demanded player skill, Kirby 180’s and demands you just have fun. It won’t challenge most of you reading this, but I bet you’ll be smiling and having a good time regardless.
Kirby Star Allies is another good game of a long lasting series. The game is fresh and gives lot of fun, and the gameplay, even if it's simple, is rock-solid.

Overall I was very happy with my time playing Kirby: Star Allies. It's not quite the system seller other Nintendo first-party titles are and doesn't really do anything new, but it's definitely a very fun experience for both veteran fans of the series and newcomers alike.
Kirby Star Allies is the first installment of the series on a brand-new console and it bears all the signs of a somewhat rushed game that's testing the waters on new hardware. That being said, it has a gem of classic Kirby gameplay, it's nostalgic and immediately enjoyable from the moment you pick it up to the moment you put it down. If you enjoy Kirby, pick Star Allies up, but keep your expectations moderate - it's not a perfect game, it's just a good one, and that's fine.
Kirby Star Allies works just as well as a single-player game as it does in multiplayer. While you may find it more fun with friends by your side, the wonderfully constructed levels and adorable focus on teamwork will make even the toughest of Kirby fans melt. And though it’s not technically perfect by any means, Star Allies remains entertaining from start to finish. Let the puffball meet the misfits, it’s time for Kirby to shine on Switch.
