Street Fighter 30th Anniversary Collection brings together some of the greatest fighting games of all time - many of which are still top-tier titles today - complete with slick online gameplay and a fully-featured training mode, all for 40 bucks. Though SF30 doesn't quite live up to its potential as a comprehensive historical document, ultimately, The Fight is all that matters. In that regard Capcom, some 30 years later, just scored another K.O. We await your return, warrior.

The fact that Street Fighter 30th Anniversary Collection gives players a thorough insight into Street Fighter II, III and the Alpha series is recommendation enough, but when they're so well presented it makes this more or less essential for fight game fans. Add in the Switch's portability, and on-the-go multiplayer opportunities (if you're both willing to forgive the limitations of the Joy-Con) and this is everything a Street Fighter fan could hope for.

Street Fighter 30th Anniversary Collection changes how we view game collections by making the match making experience streamlined instead of having us go to each game individually. The museum has an incredible amount of care put into it with even the concept art of the first game available to look through. Digital Eclipse has outdone themselves with an incredibly humbling anniversary collection.

This is a real love letter to the Street Fighter series. Eleven genuine classics (and one stinker) all ported with great care and with a museum of developmental and concept art, soundtracks and an interactive timeline of the series that'll take a good hour or so to look through, it's a great way to celebrate Street Fighter's 30th birthday even before you factor in the online and training modes for the four marquee titles. Whether you're interested in getting really good at Third Strike or Super Turbo or simply want that nostalgic thrill of days spent on a couch leathering your friends, Street Fighter 30th Anniversary Collection is a must.

While some of the games included in this compendium are rendered somewhat superfluous by the fact that far superior sequels and updates exist alongside them, Street Fighter 30th Anniversary Collection remains an utterly essential purchase for any self-respecting fighting game fan. Because of Street Fighter's importance to the genre, this is like a history lesson in how the one-on-one fighter has evolved over time; from its rather bumbled inception with the original Street Fighter to its break-out moment with the sequel and its slow and steady refinement with the Super, Alpha and Street Fighter III sub-series. Granted, you'll end up wanting more – it would have been nice to see some of the spin-off titles like X-Men Vs. Street Fighter make the cut, if only as bonus items – but it's not the fault of the game that we're inherently greedy by nature. The only other point to make is that the experience really benefits from using the right controller; while the Joy-Con are perfectly acceptable when you're hosting impromptu local multiplayer challenges and the Pro Controller's D-Pad is passable, we found the 8bitdo SN30 and SN30 Pro pads to be much better options, and if you have an arcade stick that's compatible with Switch, now is the ideal time to dig it out – this is fighting game nirvana, pure and simple.

The various forms of Street Fighter II are indisputably the main historical attraction of this collection.

Street Fighter 30th Anniversary Collection gathers twelve games bearing the series' name in an outstanding collection and further adds them a simplified local multiplayer and a very polished online multiplayer to some of them, contributing to make this one of the finest compilations ever made in the history of gaming.

Ultimately, there's no denying the impressive history of Street Fighter. It's a series that has continued to evolve, and this special release is a great and deserved tribute to the 2D titles from the first twenty-plus years.

An immense collection of classic fighting games that shows off just how good the Street Fighter series is. The games themselves are one thing, but the inclusion of the Museum mode allows you to learn so much about the series. Games are often said to be love letters, this is a love encyclopedia and is essential for fans of the series.

If fighting games are your jam then Street Fighter 30th Anniversary Collection is not only the best compilation for the series to come out of Capcom, it’s probably one of the greatest collections ever made.

There’s so much quality inside of the Street Fighter 30th Anniversary Collection that it’s easy to call it a must-have for fighting game fans. From the iconic to the obscure, every corner of these 12 releases is represented and reveled in to deliver a Shoryuken straight to your nostalgia centers and get you working on those combos all over again. There may be a few blemishes in the overall delivery, but this is still a handsome fighter — and they never lose battles.

Street Fighter 30th Anniversary Collection is a great nostalgia package to relive the early years of the series. Although it would have been nice to have a complete version of each game, an arcade port with console additions, the collection ticks enough boxes to make it a worthwhile purchase for fighting game fans.

This is a good collection that runs the gauntlet of arcade fighting games of the '80s and '90s. Whether or not you are a fan, this is a good entry point in the series, and there is something here for everyone.

Street Fighter 30th Anniversary Collection is a great way to celebrate the best beat'em up in history. It gots the games, it gots the story, it can be played everywhere (on Switch): that's more than enough!

Street Fighter 30th Anniversary Collection delivers something that many people have been waiting at least 25 years to enjoy — virtually arcade-perfect, zero loading-time versions of some of the very best fighting games out there. It might be a little late in arriving, and imperfectly executed, but overall, that's worthy of a celebration.

Street Fighter 30th Anniversary Collection is a great celebration of Street Fighter's history.  While I'd rather have seen Street Fighter IV as opposed to five versions of Street Fighter II, I can't really complain about having twelve games in one collection, though only four are playable online.  I'm not too fond of the "random game" mechanic for lobby battles and I'm glad it doesn't extend to the other multiplayer modes, and the Switch's Joy-Cons are probably the least desirable way to play a fighting game of any kind.  Beyond that though, if you're a fan of Street Fighter you'll likely want to pick this one up.
