It’s beautiful, it’s polished, and it will likely be a smash hit for anyone who’s been waiting all these years for a complex and challenging Mario tennis game.

Overall, my time with Mario Tennis Aces has been a blast.

Overall, Mario Tennis Aces is a decent game. It's not great, but it could be with some tweaks here and there. If you're looking for a decent new multiplayer game to add to your Switch library, it's certainly worth a look. Unfortunately, for the content offered, $60 is a bit much. It felt like Nintendo was really trying to stuff in some extra modes to warrant that price tag, but I don't think it feels like a complete package. Its core gameplay is fun, but I would wait for a sale.

Mario Tennis Aces is one of the best arcade tennis simulators on the market, especially when played with friends, but a lack of content will see many lose interest rather quickly.

Not quite an ace, but a respectable new addition to the series, multiplayer mayhem saves a disappointing single-player mode.

It's the best of Mario Tennis and Wii Sports motion tennis rolled into one game, but in distinct and very seperate modes, it just lacks one thing: being able to play a proper set of tennis.

Mario Tennis Aces is the latest multiplayer offering from Nintendo on Switch but is worth the price of admission?

Mario Tennis Aces doesn't quite excel in all of the ways that it could have, but the core mechanics and multiplayer action are so good, it's still worth diving in for some quality Mario Tennis action.

Mario Tennis Aces is a fine addition to the series and a far cry from the bare-bones offering from the Wii U. The single player mode offers up plenty for solo players while the online and local play will keep me coming back.

Mario Tennis Aces is a well-made, fast-paced, and fun tennis game, but it has some disappointing game modes and may not be all that engaging for solo players.

Mario Tennis Aces is a good tennis game let down by an Adventure Mode that often feels as though it's cheating you.

Mario Tennis Aces will provide you and your friends with a really good time, provided you don't spend too long in the story mode.

Mario Tennis Aces looks and performs as well as anything you'd expect from the House of 'Tache, but its family friendly appearance disguises a brutally difficult single player experience that will surely alienate younger players.

Mario Tennis Aces has a chance at being a great game down the road. Right now, it's simply good. The gameplay is as addictive as ever and the Adventure Mode is a great way to educate people on the ins and outs of Mario Tennis. It's just missing features that, while small, make a world of difference when it comes to the longevity of the game. I want to play Aces for the rest of the Switch lifecycle, but right now it's not giving me much of a reason to keep booting it up.

Aces is the most complex and Mario Tennis game yet, but its online modes are missing some key features.

Probably the best Mario Tennis game since the N64 era, but the trick shots can still frustrate and the story campaign is a disappointment.

If you're one of the die hard fans of Mario and his adventures, this is your game without any doubt. Mario Tennis Aces is one of those games that you could go for it anytime and you wouldn't miss a thing if you don't buy it either.

Mario Tennis Aces is ultimately a solid party game whose weak spots mainly lie in the peripheral areas like the campaign, swing mode, and fairly limited customization. The core gameplay is enjoyable and takes center stage in the addictive, fun multiplayer modes.

Mario Tennis Aces functions best as a local, couch game. There's no better fun than gathering a group of mates, having some drinks and wiling away the night with game after game of Mario Tennis.

There may be some faults with its modes and options, but that doesn’t make the meter-based tennis any less fun for local and online matches. It’s the perfect step forward for the series, even if it doesn’t manage to overtake all of its predecessors.
