Shadow of the Tomb Raider Reviews
Shadow of the Tomb Raider has ultimately achieved the potential of a modern Tomb Raider experience after the series lost its identity with the reboot.
The stealth mechanics and fun world traversal in Shadow of the Tomb Raider make it a great game. Whether Lara is smothering herself in mud to shank enemies and return to the shadows, rappelling down into gloomy caves, or blasting creatures with her powerful shotgun, this game has a grimy edge that makes it well worth playing.
Shadow of the Tomb Raider is an excellent action and adventure title. The stealth mechanics present are great, the possibilities of approach are also very good and the technical part deserves all the compliments possible. The graphics are amazing and the sound effects are one of the best I have ever experienced on PS4. These two factors combined create a simply incredible ambience. Finally, the optional content continues to be quite vast. However, the story isn't so great, as well as certain side quests.

If I have one issue, it 's that the path of the main story feels a little short and a little too neatly tied up at the end — if you simply choose to mash through it. I feel like you have some room to let things breathe at the end of a trilogy, and I didn 't feel like the story did enough of that as I progressed. With that said, it feels like the best way to play Shadow of the Tomb Raider is to embrace all of it and take some time to sink into the world Crystal Dynamics has crafted so that Lara 's journey feels more filling. That 's when her journey and everything she does feels a little more ... right.
Shadow of the Tomb Raider is definitely darker than its predecessor but that doesn't hurt its awe-inspiring setting, fun stealthy combat, oodles of rewarding collectibles, and suspenseful action that will keep you on the edge of your seat from start to finish.
Shadow of the Tomb Raider is a great game. The story isn’t as strong as it could be, the optional tombs, collectibles, and exciting exploration make the overall journey worthwhile.
Shadow of The Tomb Raider is a good game. It’s been made with a respectable budget and decent writing, with tried and tested gameplay tropes. But that’s where the praise ends. For the final instalment in a trilogy, the game does not do enough. Not nearly enough at all.
It's a really fun game and it's a pleasure to explore ruins by solving puzzles and using Lara's skills. And what to say about its technical invoice, which is brilliant ... but I think it lacks that plus that other games that we have enjoyed in recent times have to climb the Olympus of essential video games.

After five years, Crystal Dynamics' reboot of Lara Croft's origin story has come full circle with Shadow of the Tomb Raider. The game successfully builds on the foundations left by the 2013 and 2015 releases in the rebooted trilogy, respectively, and does a wonderful job of fleshing out the final arc in Lara's 'origin' story. Although the overall narrative may not be as strong as in previous titles, it does offer enough to keep players engaged throughout.
Shadow Of The Tomb Raider ultimately bows out this trilogy of games with a whimper rather than a roar. The gameplay may be a little better this time around compared to Rise but the disjointed nature of its various mechanics make this game more frustrating and under-developed than it should be. I love Tomb Raider and have played almost every game since its original on the Playstation all those years ago but Shadow Of The Tomb Raider feels like a cruelly ironic name for this final title; a game overshadowed by what’s come before and never once looking like stepping out of the darkness and becoming a shining beacon for the franchise.
Shadow of the Tomb Raider is not only the best game of the new trilogy, but also one with the best characters. The setting of the game sound bonkers most of the time but is definitely a great experience even for someone that didn't enjoyed Rise of the Tomb Raider.

Shadow of the Tomb Raider is an excellent culmination of the modern Tomb Raider trilogy with the most famous videogame archaeologist in the lead role, cleverly combining new and old elements. Less action, but more adventure, and that's not necessarily a bad thing.

The Tomb Raider reboot trilogy finishes off strong with Shadow of the Tomb Raider, the darkest game out of the three.
Shadow of the Tomb Raider in the most optimistic sense, is a successful copy-paste from last game's cliché elements that thanks to its new environments and impressive atmosphere of its jungles, managed to offer an enjoyable experience that has many flaws. games's story unfolds in a cliché way just like the previous installments and the antagonist of game is a very lame and underwhelming character. Shadow of the Tomb Raider as the finisher of the reboot saga should have brought a more glorious and memorable ending.

More focused on exploration and mystery, Shadow of the Tomb Raider encapsulate all the elements of the previous games in this reboot series and some of the oldest games too, but it presents a dull story with predictable twists that takes itself too seriously.

A powerful and fitting end to the beginning of Lara Croft’s legend.
Overall I loved Shadow of the Tomb Raider. It’s a decent game. Perhaps one that I will not remember any time in the future, but it’s a decent game nonetheless. I just don’t think it’s a worthy ending to the trilogy.
In many ways Shadow of the Tomb Raider is an apotheosis of everything the reboot series has attempted to achieve, and while this certainly makes it feel like a greatest hits of the franchise at times, the gorgeous hub-worlds and superb pacing ensure it's an easy recommendation for fans of the prior titles.
When finishing up a trilogy you expect it to have an ending to fit the bill. However, disappointingly enough, Crystal Dynamics “Shadow of the Tomb Raider” is about as memorable as the long-forgotten relics that Lara discovers.
Fans of action adventure games are sure to enjoy Shadow of the Tomb Raider. It features great storytelling and exploration with fun combat, customizable weaponry, upgradeable skills, and plenty of new tombs to explore for treasure! Despite a couple of things holding it back, it's well worth your time and money.
