Onrush is one of the most original driving games I've played in years, giving it a unique flavor. By forgetting about simply going faster than everyone else and mixing traditional racing mechanics with modes and subtle nuances typically found in other genres, Onrush managed to change the way I think about racing games. Its unorthodox online car-brawls and varied objectives go out of their way to feel different, and even when the maps become repetitive after a short while, its appeal remains for the simple fact that there's no other arcade driving game quite like this.

Onrush is a truly awesome experience, it's a completely fresh racing title that aims to provide something that's purely fun.
A very welcome arrival to a sphere of gaming that has been dominated by the likes of Forza and Gran Turismo recently, Onrush has a lot of potential to develop into something special if it can find its audience. It may threaten to lose its way here and there, but the possibilities are obvious. Even in its current state it's more than likely to show you a very good time indeed.

Onrush takes an established genre and drives it down a new path. It creates an experience that is distinctly its own, but that includes a number of flaws. The Burnout-lite experience blends class-based gameplay in a handful of modes, and does so semi-successfully. Onrush has a strong premise at its core. If it adapts over time to focus more on its strengths, it may catch up to the competitive titles it set out to challenge.
Onrush is a lot of things. It's brash, bold, experimental, but most importantly, really good fun to play. Its success will be determined by how well the team based concept catches on with gamers at large, but we've got high hopes for it.
Onrush delivers a sense of thrilling arcade action in a way no other game is doing but the awe-inspiring moments of epic proportions quickly become old as they happen so rapidly.
What I still find most appealing is the seemingly impossible nature of its action, vehicles endlessly slamming into one another in a flurry of wheels and steel.
Though it is capable of annoying at times, Onrush is hands down a brilliant arcade racer.
Onrush is an excellent reimagining of the driving genre. It’s Evolution Studios greatest hits smashed together with the ultimate competitive traits of the very best modern multiplayer games. It stands alongside its peers as a reason to invest in premium online services, laughs in the face of those who would dare pigeonhole it and demands your attention.
While its future is not set in stone, what Onrush brings to the table right now is a highly refreshing take on team-based vehicular mayhem complete with vibrant visual flair and a thumping soundtrack.
If I could imagine the kind of game I’ve been waiting for within the genre, it’s OnRush. Quite a feat for a game that I wouldn’t even call a racer. Whilst some may question the full price point, I can confidently say OnRush is worth every penny, offering an experience that is an adrenaline-filled rush that’ll keep you coming back for more. With a ton of customisation on offer, gameplay mechanics that are not only novel but finely tuned and a highly satisfying learning curve, OnRush manages to nail everything it tries its hand at. As an arcade racer, Onrush is a neat distraction, one that lets you pummel opponents and boost to your heart's content. However, there are so many other racers – from Burnout Paradise and Mario Kart to Gran Turismo Sport and Forza Horizon – that can offer so much more, whether you seek a great arcade racer or a serious racing sim.
ONRUSH rewrites the formula for what a racing game is, and it's enormous fun because of it.
What we can be sure of though, is that Codemasters has at least put together a great foundation on which to build. They've promised that as well as that ranked mode, new content and features will roll out to players going forward and if they make the right steps, Onrush could end up being an absolutely huge deal. At launch though, it serves as a great taste of what could be, even if it could go with just a little bit more fuel in the tank.
