Overcooked 2 is better than the first game, largely thanks to the addition of online multiplayer and the ability to throw ingredients, but it can still be improved.
Overcooked 2 serves up a great balance of hilarious chaos and strategy alongside meaningful improvements over its predecessor. The kitchens have more moving parts, the recipes are more varied, and the ability to throw ingredients fundamentally changes the arcade cooking formula. It's still ideal when played on the couch with friends, but solo play is much improved, and online support adds versatility.
While not the most ambitious sequel, Overcooked 2 still ranks among the best couch co-op has to offer.

Though I had a few minor quibbles over Overcooked 2's garnishes, it's overall a delectable followup. At times, I wondered why Ghost Town didn't just release the new recipes and levels as DLC to its first title, but that doesn't detract from the delightful new challenges and the convenience of new features like online co-op.
Overcooked! 2 is everything I wanted from a sequel to one of the better couch co-op games out there with online multiplayer, varied levels, recipes that drive you mad, and more.
It doesn't try and reinvent the wheel, but Overcooked 2 is still a fantastic and barmy co-op romp that will entertain you and a group of mates for hours on end.
Overcooked 2 offers a more enjoyable and fun collaborative experience that will make you spend a lot of fun times with your wife, family or friends. With a good campaign that offers more than 40 different levels and arcade and Versus game modes, this game will always appeal to you as long as you do not play alone. .

All-in-all, a second portion of Overcooked‘s co-op insanity was exactly what I was looking for. As they say though, variety is the spice of life, and I think Overcooked 2 could have used just a bit more of that: variety. Still, the resulting sequel isn't bad by any means and will absolutely fill you up if you're looking for precisely more of what the original had to offer. If Ghost Town Games were to go back for a third romp in the kitchen though, I'd love to see a few new things seasoned in next time around.

Overcooked 2 may be short on surprises, but that's totally fine. It expands and refines exactly what we loved about the original, with plenty of fun and challenging stages to be played again and again, whether alone, with friends, or online. You couldn't ask much more from this indie sequel: a filling follow-up that, while familiar, will have fans reaching for their aprons on launch day.
If you enjoyed the original or skipped it purely because you needed online multiplayer support, Overcooked 2 should be a no-brainer. While the sequel runs the risk of being slightly too familiar and lacks any big surprises, it's still a winning formula. Co-op gaming doesn't get much better than this.
Overcooked 2 is more like an expansion of the original game than a real sequel. It has a ton of new content and levels, but the gameplay remains barely intact, which means that the main pros and cons of its predecessor are still here. If you liked the original Overcooked, you will love this sequel; but if you don't, well, this game simply doesn't have anything new to make you fall in love with it.
