All-Star Fruit Racing Reviews
All-Star Fruit Racing takes a unique karting weapon system, throws it into a blender with some cute presentation ideas and an unfortunate series of technical annoyances, and ends up with a pretty mixed bag as a result. This is a competent racer, and there's just about enough content to make you want to keep playing, but it never realises the potential that it could have had and doesn't really stand up to the heights that other titles can offer. It's just a little on the weak side to justify its asking price, so bear that in mind before jumping into a fruity purchase.
Beyond the comparative grievance with Mario Kart, All-Star Fruit Racing feels like a low budget karting game with nothing in particular beyond its juice mixer system for some unsurprising and ineffective power-ups.

It has managed to surprise us in a very positive way: although it has its flaws, like an unpolished audio as well as a lack of online features, it possesses a ton of content to enjoy, the progression and unlocking systems are adequate, the are new elements introduced in the oversteer and attack systems, that with some exceptions, add some uniqueness to it, and, most of all, has its own identity regarding the visual elements.

I have a lot of questions for this game, like why is Poseimon one of the last tracks I unlock when it's so dull and why does Dino Juice have a Jurassic Park design motif with a Danny Elfman inspired music track? Or why did I race the same track two different times in a single cup? But I don't want to think about what the answers to those would be because I really don't want to think about All-Star Fruit Racing anymore. If this were on mobile I'd have deleted it after my first trip to Avocado Roller. As it's a PS4 game, I was holding to hope there'd be something, anything, I could grasp on to here that would signify it as a quality kart racer for the platform. There isn't.
Despite its issues, All-Star racing is an original take on the kid-friendly kart racer which offers a wonderful selection of fruit themed content to keep both children and adults entertained. It might not get everything right, but it's a beautifully juicy start.
Uninspired music jams, slow loading and rendering of tracks can all become tiresome, taking away from what generally is a wonderful world filled with color.
All-Star Fruit Racing is as sweet as its name implies.
All-Star Fruit Racing is a relatively fun kart racer that has some good ideas, but it all goes a bit pear-shaped. Though it provides a decent amount of content both in single and multiplayer, the wavering performance, some iffy design choices, and a general lack of polish may spoil your appetite. If you're hungry for a simple kart racing experience on PS4, this may give you a bite of the cherry, but it'll sadly never be top banana.
All-Star Fruit Racing gets it right when it comes to game modes and umber of tracks - wide and varied, along with a lush visual outlook. Less fortunate, though, are its repetitiveness, the lack of a sensation of speed, its long loading times and an overall mediocre soundtrack. All together, these factors make All-Star Fruit Racing a more passable name in the world of kart racing.

My first dive into the game left a really sour taste in my mouth. There was a broken AI system that simply did not allow me to get gold in any of the races in order to unlock the rest of the characters. Most of them are generic in design, minus a few interesting ones with special attacks.
Solid Kart racer with charm and many funny ideas, but its potential is not fully exhausted due to lack of detail.

Overall, I enjoyed my time with All-Star Fruit Racing. I'll admit, it initially gave me a bad impression. The combination of a 50-second long initial loading time (I timed it!), a music-less and boring tutorial, and the awkward inane witch's laugh that persists throughout a race while I'm playing all led me to a preconceived idea about this game. The more I discovered, like how the creepy laugh was apparently my car horn and how I could customize it to sound more like a real horn, all led me on a journey through a magical Fruit-kingdom of fun kart-racing goodness. Unfortunately, the unintuitive U.I. and overall poor polish of the game detract from an otherwise delightful experience. Races felt too unfair one moment, and ridiculously too easy the next.
All-Star Fruit Racing is a good debut kart game. It's the effort of a newcoming software house who does not compete against great kart games, but it also say it has not this ambition. They developed a game that is funny, creative and user-friendly. Its strongest features lie in the track design and the weapon system, but its flaws are a too simple driving system and drivers with few charisma. It's a summer videogame, to have fun together with family and friends.

A serviceable Mario Kart clone that is fun enough but lacks any real personality and won't challenge most gamers
Only after you've exhausted all worthwhile alternatives is All-Star Fruit Racing worth giving a go, and also probably after a hefty discount.
All-Star Fruit Racing is an interesting racer that, unfortunately, received a bad port on Switch. It could have been good, but the sacrifices made for the Switch version completely ruined the gameplay experience for me. If you're going to buy All-Star Fruit Racing, avoid the Switch version at all costs.
All-Star Fruit Racing is a fun and colorful kart racer on PlayStation 4 that is a lot of fun to play, especially with family members or friends. It's not as deep or has as much content as the current reigning champion – Mario Kart 8 Deluxe – but it does some fun things that will be a blast for you to experience.
All-Star Fruit Racing isn't a bad game it just ended up being a very average and meh game in my opinion.
For a first attempt at a kart racer, All-Star Fruit Racing shows that the team behind it is talented, and they know how to make a genuinely fun game.
All-Star Fruit Racing tries to be the kart racing game we want on the PlayStation 4, but its lack of some extra polish hurts it. The game looks as if it was from last gen, and the frame rate is all over the place, which hurts the flow of a kart racing game. It does have a few good ideas and the kart racing mechanics are okay, but this isn't the game we have been waiting for.
