Life is Strange 2: Episode one is a good start to an interesting adventure. The beginning is terrible and the political statements feel forced, but the dynamic relationship between Sean and Daniel is relatable and enjoyable. Episode one has flaws, but I'm excited to see what happens next.

The first chapter of Life is Strange 2 surprises for good. It maintains the essence of the serie and it's capable of contributing its bit with a much more dynamic and natural universe. We have doubts to resolve as the importance of Daniel's power, but the trip of the Diaz brothers is promising.

This is an excellent start for the second season of a game with big shoes to fill. We may have lost Telltale Games forever, but you can dry your tears with Dontnod's big-hearted adventure of a story game.

While this is just one small moment in the whole of the first episode, to me it demonstrated just how far that Dontnod has come in delivering a story that truly speaks to the emotional and human drama that Life is Strange explores at its best.

It's not going to be known quite yet if Life is Strange is essential, but early signs are that this sequel is going to be as good as season one was.

That being said, Life is Strange 2 boldly covers subject matter that so often is tiptoed around or completely ignored in entertainment, and it's refreshing to see the studio address topics like racism and police brutality head-on. While I'd like to see some technical aspects polished up (the facial animations still lack a decent range of expression, for example), Episode 1 is a solid start on this new saga in the series. I look forward to seeing what becomes of the Diaz brothers as they continue to head towards Mexico over the course of the next four episodes.

Dontnod is capturing the mood of a powerful country in the midst of a crisis of identity. If they can stick the landing, Life is Strange 2 has the potential to be a masterpiece.

Overall, Life is Strange 2 — Episode One: Roads does well to open up a brand new story. Where it’s going, it’s hard to say at this point, but the characters are strong and the options bountiful.

But what makes Life Is Strange 2 such a great experience is the brothers. They have fully fleshed out characters; their actions hold a tremendous weight, their journey a means to start a new life together. Their humor and love for one another are sincere, making for characters you could see yourself hanging out with. So far Life Is Strange 2 looks to be a road worth taking; from the dawning of the sun, into the late of night, there’s so much more to experience.

With a new cast and a whole new different setting, Life is Strange 2 starts small but hints to an adventure bigger than we ever imagined. Again Dontnod tries to tackle different topics like race and police brutality.

Episode 1: Roads is a shining example of a developer that has built on the success of the first title and only continued to improve with the experience it has under its belt in episodic gaming.

Life is Strange 2 starts off fine with some interesting characters and emotional moments, it does however have some pacing problems.

Life Is Strange 2: Episode 1 – Roads has the same je ne sais quoi as its predecessor, but it's a different kind of game. This isn't a series about teenage angst anymore – it's about survival in a contemporary United States that's more hostile than it'd like to think it is. Larger, more detailed environments and inconclusive moral decisions that have a direct influence on key cast members make for an impressive, brave opening.

Life is Strange 2: Episode 1 is all about the story. You shouldn’t really come into this expecting an experience heavy on gameplay, because if you are then it won’t be for you. Episode 1: Roads is a tale of brotherhood and education, with both siblings supporting and growing from each other. This is only the beginning though and based on what’s come so far it’s only going to get a lot better.

The first episode of Life is Strange 2 offers a variety of hard decisions you have to make. It contains mature events, well-written dialogues, and a world filled with details, characters and objects that you can interact with. In general, compared to previous sequel Life is Strange 2 shows a lot of improvements in all aspects and I'm looking forward to the rest of the season.

This first episode for Life is Strange 2 is one of the biggest surprises of 2018 so far. Dontnod Entertainment not only has improved its saga in a technical way, but the script and characterization for the game presents huge and delicate topics among the American culture.

The first episode of Life is Strange 2 introduces us the brothers Daniel and Sean in a simple and effective way. You will feel emotionally attached to them in some way. Therefore, the story shows itself to be promising in this first episode. However, there are some problems regarding the technical performance. In addition, in this first episode there are no mechanics in the gameplay tied to the "power" of one of the brothers, which takes away the uniqueness of this series in relation to other adventure games. In the end though, we are looking forward to the second episode.

The first episode of Life is Strange 2 is a promising start to the sequel of one of 2015's biggest surprises. If Dontnod Entertainment doesn't let up, this sequel could easily be as good as its predecessor.
