A watercolor painting in motion. Worth picking up for visuals alone.

Gris is not really long-running game, you can complete the whole experience in around 4 hours. The game phases are well defined, through the use of colour: from a desaturated start, the player goes through different and intense hue of colours, metaphor of a psychologic journey towards the acceptation of ourselves. Gris will bring us in the deepest abyss of mind, where our fears and the rejection of who we truly are will force us on looking at everything as it was without any life or colour. Where everything is destroyed and hope is what last, but still, you can hear a faint voice and a weak breath.

A tranquil and serene game in the flavour of Journey or Inside, that is as beautiful as it can be.

Gris is a serene experience all its own, filled with problems to overcome and success to achieve. Gris is a wordless game dependent on your ability to surpass what it throws at you. Pacing aside, not much gets more beautiful than witnessing Gris in full motion.

The debut of Nomada Studio is therefore a small synaesthetic prodigy that, in the face of a symbolism partly bulimic and not always fully communicative, will often leave you speechless. Just like the young Gris.

Gris is an artistic hopping adventure that combines sophisticated platform mechanics with a dense, emotionally charged atmosphere.

What I expected from GRIS was a solid, beautiful, platformer that could occupy a few hours of my time. What I got from GRIS was quite close to that, but somehow more beautiful than I could have ever considered or expected. If you want to see just how artistic games can get, or if you're like me and just need a few hours occupied by beauty and platforming, then it's hard to go wrong with GRIS.

Like a beautiful and minimal watercolour painting or an evocative piece of album art come to life - GRIS is short, sweet, and often inspiring.

GRIS is a game made with love and can make you fall in love with itself. Lucky for us, we have now have a new example to present when we talk about "games as art pieces"

GRIS is the most tender and probably the most beautiful game of the year. Clean and minimalistic act of art

What GRIS demonstrates is that there is beauty in ambiguity, and solace in solitude.

Gris is much more than a simple game, it's a really powerful sensorial experience, a journey inside our personality. Gris talks about us better than anything else, showing the deepest emotions hidden inside our soul.

Offers a well-crafted invitation for exploration on multiple levels, though Gris is neither a walk in the park nor a brain-wringing title

GRIS is a wonderful and essential game about loss and pain that tells a criptic story about a girl in search of herself. It is another success for Devolver Digital.

Gris is on of the most beautiful games I've ever seen. You could picture yourself as the main protagonist and see the game as it your life. At first, you're weak but this is all in your head. To overcome the problems, you should trust yourself. Maybe even the main villain of the games is just yourself.

GRIS will hardly demand quick reflexes or make you scratch your head thinking about the solutions to it's puzzle platforming. It's a short game (about three, four hours), that's fun to control and simple and very accessible in terms of gameplay, that possibly will leave a little to be desired in terms depth for those seeking greater challenges. But I think above all this, it is a moving experience thanks to its artistic and narrative combinations. I loved my hours interacting, listening and watching the beautiful journey of Gris.
