The LEGO Movie 2 Videogame Reviews
The LEGO series usually is an enjoyable game to play. However, The LEGO Movie 2 - Videogame left all the charisma behind just to take advantage of the movie premiere.

It's sad how this Lego game is completely devoid of the unique humor and style which made previous Lego games so enjoyable. This personality and flair, which has been a staple of the Lego video game brand, being absent from this latest title is disheartening. I'd recommend avoiding The Lego Movie 2 Videogame unless you have to play absolutely everything Lego. Even then, there are just much better games in the series that deserve your attention.
Everything is not awesome. Everything is not even okay. Everything is just meh. Tt games haw finally done what a very vocal part of their audience wanted. They changed things. Drastically. And in doing so, they've taken such a huge step backward that this feels more LEPIN than LEGO. A heavily flawed shell of what the franchise had become.
Not the game I was expecting but a neat game regardless
A fun game for kids and those who didn't lose their inner-children. It doesn't promise anything different from the previous LEGO games for other gamers.

The LEGO Movie 2 Videogame features some moments of fun and it's an accessible game for players of all backgrounds...but the game doesn't really fulfil its mission: due to rather empty, dull worlds, few common points with the movie and technical issues, The LEGO Movie 2 Videogame is nothing short of a big disappointment.

The Lego Movie 2 Video Game is a fun family title for all ages alike
If you love LEGO Worlds then you will no doubt absolutely love this game due to being able to free roam and more or less construct and destroy anything you wish, your imagination is the limit. For me it feels a little rushed and unrefined. It is as if somebody remembered that the film was launching soon and needed to get a game quickly ready, “oh yes lets reskin LEGO Worlds, throw in some movie cutscenes and away we go.” There is a degree of awkwardness and certainly clunkyness when playing the game that I can’t help feel could of been addressed through a bit more playtesting, resulting in a better quality of game that has been produced. If you are an inquisitive human, or a child, then buy this game. If on the other hand you detested the format of LEGO Worlds, then steer clear!
The LEGO Movie 2 Videogame is more or less a standard LEGO game like many others. But this time, it really feels like the franchise needs a break in order to find some new ideas or it's gonna get really stale.

Like the film it's based on, The LEGO Movie 2 Videogame changes things up from the usual formula without harming the overall product at the end.
The main track of introduction to the menu is the wonderful song of the first film, to which there are several references throughout the video game. Too bad not to find the complete edition of the song called: "The song that stays in your head" (Catchy song).

The LEGO Movie 2 Videogame is another weak LEGO game with an empty spaces and a lot of construction work, which at some point starts to make you sick.

This fun game is a great addition to the LEGO collection of games. It's not my favorite game (will anything ever beat LEGO Star Wars?) but it's well made and entertaining. The mix of exploration, sandpit and story elements makes it feel fresher than recent LEGO games. Plus it's just plain cool to walk around as Emmet or Wildstyle while talking to the likes of Batman and Unikitty. It's worth checking out, especially if you're a fan of the movie.
Nearly every element of The LEGO Movie 2 Videogame can be described as basic or simple. It doesn't hold a candle to other LEGO games, and while the world-building can be interesting, it is much more limited than LEGO's proper sandbox title. The LEGO Movie 2 Videogame game is the definition of average mediocracy. Rent if you're curious, but don't bother with a purchase unless you find it on deep discount and want the Achievements.
The LEGO Movie 2 Videogame sits in a weird place between licensed LEGO adventures and a “create-your-own-world” style LEGO game like, well, LEGO Worlds. It’s half of each game, but the two halves never manage to make a whole.
Like a nightmare of old, the bad movie tie-in game makes a reappearance with The LEGO Movie 2 Videogame, and it is a shame that everything is not awesome.
There are new mechanics and decent story, but also repetitive quests and eventless gameplay. So this in not very funny Lego game.

Finally bringing something new to the LEGO "Franchise" titles, this might scratch that itch that previous games have been missing, with a lot fewer bugs to boot. It doesn't spell out what happens in the movie, but the ending is certainly a spoiler - just so you're forewarned.
The LEGO Movie 2 Videogame might not be for adults. Even so, it's a game worth your time if you're a completionist, hitting that sweet spot of a 100% completion rate to add more Platinum trophies, and if you love to play video-games with your kids. Playing The LEGO Movie 2 Videogame brings out the kid inside me that ignores whatever cumbersome of a reality we call life has for a few hours. Unfortunately, it does not have enough to keep my younger self out for a long time.
