Modern Warfare’s re-envisioned take on realistic combat may not be for everyone, but it establishes a great foundation for something special and has the potential to eventually get there. The campaign delivers a short but provocative story coupled with some spectacular action sequences, while the multiplayer brings a broad range of fresh content and options that are bound to keep FPS fans hooked.

Modern Warfare is a strong comeback for Call of Duty. Combination of its appealing campaign with its diverse and one of a kind multiplayer has brought the most valuable Call of Duty for the players in years.

In any case, if you’ve been holding off on buying new Call Of Duty games, or if you’re just sick of the futuristic shooters or the hero-shooter aspects of Black Ops 4, this is the perfect time to return to the series. Even if you just play for the campaign, I think this one is worth your time and money.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare does a lot right from a gameplay standpoint—at least as far as campaign and multiplayer are concerned. But a confused story that simultaneously has too much and too little to say about war makes it a poor successor to the legacy of Call of Duty 4.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is a true return to form for the franchise after some not-as-good entries in the last years, thanks to a compelling campaign and to a boots on the ground multiplayer.

For all the strengths of the story, multiplayer is where new and veteran players will sink hours and hours into. For both sets of players, Modern Warfare offers new content and hours of entertainment.

Where this reboot stumbles can be plainly seen when measuring it in two distinct categories which the original so easily surmounted: its past and its competition.

While the campaign never goes for as long as we want it to, the online modes are everything hardcore Call of Duty fans could want and the Modern Warfare timeline is a welcome return to the franchise.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is definitely one of the best Call of Duty games in recent history. Modern Warfare has a great story mode and its multiplayer despite some balance problems, is still fun to play with friends. even tough the Spec Ops missions can't add anything to the fun, but in general Modern Warfare is what a Call of Duty game should be.

Aside from the broken co-op mode, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare turned out very well. However, we should remain wary of Activision's monetization practices that aren't present in the game yet but if the previous entries in the series can be an indication, it's only a matter of time.

There’s little coherence in this story, outside of the argument that the good guys on the ground should be free to do whatever they think needs to be done once the bullets start flying.

Activision and Infinity Ward's Call of Duty: Modern Warfare reboot advances the franchise in truly interesting ways, but it's not without flaws.

Infinity Ward was never going to recapture the magic of the original Modern Warfare, but this is still their most memorable Call of Duty game of the past decade. This is a bold new spin that's uneven in places, but proves there is still room for innovation within that core template.

Call of Duty is undeniably a piece of propaganda fiction that glamorises and bolsters the image of war, as well as the perspective and ‘righteousness’ of western forces

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare on PC shines where past instalments have not, finally bringing uncapped frame rates, multi-monitor support and an FOV slider in the settings. Paired with multiplayer cross-play, you finally can’t go wrong with picking PC over a console copy.

Infinity Ward pressed the reset button on Modern Warfare, with a true remake of a classic, that puts the most significant step forward, in gameplay and presentation, that the series has ever had.

At one point, it forced me to look through the eyes of a little girl caught in the rubble after a Russian bombing in a town somewhere in the Middle East. Her dead mother right next to her and the screams of people topside is not something that I'll soon forget. Modern Warfare might be a game, but it's worth playing so that you can get out of your comfort zone, even for just a little while.

As a well-rounded gaming experience, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare takes steps in the right direction to give itself some serious realism. Offering more grounded gameplay than instalments such as the Black Ops or Advanced Warfare games, the gunplay and controls are tight and very balanced for both the experienced and casual player alike. The only thing that the game and Infinity Ward themselves seemed to truly struggle with was the narrative – where it works in some cases, often you're left feeling like you're stuck in a half-concocted American political propaganda piece.
