Age of Wonders: Planetfall is a great 4X, but it lacks in accessibility.

Age of Wonders: Planetfall turned out to be more specific than the triquel. It seems that Triumph Studio managed to get stuck in time, steal some ideas of competitors and at the same time predict development of trends. However, it is still a very exciting game that will be interesting to fans of the genre. Especially it should be recommended to the owners of PS4 and Xbox One, which ignores by Sid Meier's Civilization.

It has a bevy of minor issues, however, like a cumbersome UI and stilted animations, and its lack of tactical depth on the battle map leaves it feeling like a game from a decade ago. But if you are looking for a 4X game to get lost in, with interesting lore and diverse factions, Planetfall will feel familiar and scratch an itch that isn’t often catered to.
Alas, if you're coming to Age of Wonders: Planetfall for a brand new angle on games you've played before, then you've come to the wrong place. It's novel to see several different recognizable mechanics blended into one genre soup. The final product isn't better than the sum of its parts, though. It makes the 4X a faster game to play, but not a better one, ultimately.
Initially unwieldy but eventually engrossing, Age of Wonders' latest entry translates its Civ-meets-XCOM formula brilliantly to a new sci-fi setting. Even if the elements of that sci-fi are a bit rote.Phil Iwaniuk
A few minor flaws can’t ruin this truly great game. Almost everything in Age of Wonders: Planetfall has been done perfectly. The futuristic world turned out great, the satirical atmosphere is refreshing, and the combination of the best parts of Civilization and XCOM resulted in such an addictive game that the developers should warn about it beforehand.

Age of Wonders: Planetfall offers players an in-depth turn-based strategy experience like no other. If you can get passed the heavy tutorial and dialogue there is a real treat of a story to be heard here,
The further you get into the game the more it does begin to feel meaningful, but early on it just doesn't impact.
‘Age of Wonders: Planetfall’ is truly an awesome game and is excellent value for money.
