Fade to Silence Reviews
All things said and done Fade to Silence is not a game that will inspire you to keep playing it. There are just too many issues with graphics, control and hit box contacts. It looks and feels clunky, and I am not sure it can be saved with a patch any time soon. Sadly I would suggest that eventually this game will do what its title suggests; Fade to Silence.
In my opinion, the game culminates into an expert combination of storytelling, survival, and community management, leaving me quite satisfied with the result. True, there are a lot of survival games out there, and aside from obvious clones, each is trying to find their niche to hopefully push their game, their story, into something more than the standard fare. For me, though not perfect, this game hits that goal. Well done, THQ Nordic.
Fade To Silence's cool weather system and interesting ideas can't make up for a derivative combat system, samey open world design, poor story, and several severe bugs. This is an adventure you won't want to survive.
Fade to Silence is an unremarkable and slow slog for survival through a wintry post-apocalypse. Technical problems, underdeveloped gameplay systems, and a confused tone erode away most of the enjoyment in a setting that showed potential.
Fade to Silence is a satisfying survival experience at heart but the poor combat system and its various technical issues overshadow what can be enjoyed.

Fade to Silence‘s strengths definitely outweigh its weaknesses, though. Its unique setting makes you want to go out and discover its secrets. Its camp building elements reward you for seeking out other survivors and building bonds with them.

Something about the survival genre has taken all those brilliant ingredients and spat out a failure of a meal, however, and that's an depressing reflection on the entire genre.
Despite being in Early Access stage for more than a year, THQ Nordic has once again published a title that obviously needed more development time, and as a result is suffering from several technical issues. Fade to Silence is yet another survival game with not enough new ideas, but it might still be fun for fans of the genre due to some of its features and gameplay mechanics.

Fade to Silence suffers from major flaws that prevent it from being truly enjoyable. Significant redesigns are needed to bring this game up to snuff.
An ambitious undertaking combining elements of survival, horror, and city building games, Fade to Silence might have been a hit if only they squashed the bugs and made a more cohesive story.
Fade to Silence is nothing if not interesting, which helps keep the game afloat even with several short- and long-term issues. From a studio that has never done this sort of thing and comprised of just a few dozen developers, it’s clear its downfall is its own ambition as virtually all of Fade to Silence’s many systems need refinement. A lack of good tutorials will scare off genre newcomers, while half-baked elements like poor combat and controls will upset the veterans too. Still, the story drips out irresistibly and base-building is deep and engaging, which makes surviving the storm of problems worthwhile. Black Forest Games bit off more than they could chew with Fade to Silence, but they deserve some credit for taking the bite.
Despite the potential that Fade to Silence has, there is no denying that this is a bad game. It suffers from poor game play, poor development, lack of polishing, a useless narrative, unbalanced difficulty, a lack of focus, outrageous levels of repetition, the problems with this game just go on and on. However, this doesn’t change one thing. I had a ton of fun with this game. The $49.99 price tag is really steep for the quality of the game you’re getting. But for a second, imagine that really god awful movie, that you love to death because of how fun that movie was to watch. That was Fade to Silence for me.
Clunky at times, Fade to Silence excels in one major area: creating a sense of community, of prospering in face of peril. It makes you worry about its characters and do your best to keep them safe. A more positive take on a post-apocalyptic world.

Fade To Silence is a good survival game, but it can leave a bad taste in our mouths due to the numerous bugs with the sleigh and a little worked combat system.

Overall, while there are some performance issues and the graphical quality for the style isn’t as high as it could have been, Fade to Silence is on my list for top games of 2019. Maybe it won’t win any awards, but it’s blend of styles into a survival setting were simply fantastic and it’s an experience that will keep me coming back to it for a while to come.
I may be veering towards the negative in my opinion of Fade to Silence but it’s a game that has potential to a a good addition to the genre.
Fade to Silence contains many interesting elements, but they simply do not combine well. The mix of a meditative base builder with clunky combat and the stress of permanent death results in a gameplay experience that is certainly unique, but unfortunately not enjoyable.
Fade to Silence as some really unique ideas, they’re just layered behind a boring and tedious set of systems.
