Super Neptunia RPG Reviews
Super Neptunia RPG, like its predecessors, has cut back significantly on fan service, though there are still several instances that nod at the series’ origins.
Super Neptunia RPG negates the positives that it brings about. The fresh perspective that comes from being a classic 2D RPG with a simple battle system clashes with the unintuitive and unresponsive platforming. The presentation is beautiful, but the performance is hampered when compared to its predecessors. The ability to explore also seems nice until you realize that the streamlined side-quest system has been replaced with the more time-consuming method of visiting each quest-giver individually. Fans of the series may still enjoy it.
Super Neptunia RPG makes an earnest attempt at shaking up the formula of the Neptunia series. Unfortunately, major technical issues bog this game down at every turn, and even if they were fixed, the drawn out story and over-simplified combat would fail to equate to an enjoyable game. Super fans of the Neptunia series might find something worthwhile in this experience, but it's sure to be buried under ten tons of headache and frustration.
For those who have previously enjoyed the tales of Neptune and her crew, it's possibly worth a try, but for those uninitiated, this won't create any new Nep Nep fans.
Super Neptunia RPG features great music, wonderful visuals and that kooky Neptunia storytelling and dialogue that fans of the series know and love. Unfortunately, the overall experience is taken down several notches by the gameplay, which features pretty basic platforming, a multitude of fetch quests and combat that could be more fleshed out. Newcomers will probably not want to nep to this particular beat but hardcore fans will still enjoy its very Neptunia-ish writing and dialogue
Super Neptunia RPG feels like it was made by two teams with two objectives, and the result is a mediocre mess.
With beautiful designs and a new style of gameplay Super Neptunia RPG tries something new but performance issues, combat that can often drag, and a story that is only held up by its humor and the player’s love of the characters limits its appeal to only the die-hard fans of the series or those looking for something a bit different from the genre norms.
Super Neptunia RPG is a weird game that, even being pretty, doesn't use the strong points of the series in which it is based on. The story and gameplay don't do anything to stand out and the visuals alone aren't enough to carry this entire adventure.

Super Neptunia RPG is a very good game but its not for everyone as it is aimed at players who consume a lot of Japanese media.my first experience with this series was satisfying: the combat system is solid with varied abilities and fun hunt missions like those in Final Fantasy XII and Final Fantasy XIII. the art direction is gorgeous. however, the Switch version is unfortunately not perfect and the technical performance is inconsistent.

Although it's an absolute treat to look at, the fights and some odd design choices mar the experience, so this is a bit more eggplant than pudding.
Unresponsive and loaded with framerate issues, Super Neptunia RPG isn't for anyone other than hardcore Hyperdimension fans who desperately need something to play until the next mainline installment comes jiggling downline the assembly line.
I spent 22 hours to complete the main quest and there is some postgame content to delve into as well. If you’re a fan of the series you’ll probably want to pick this one up as well. It will be worth the $49.99 asking price. While it’s not as good as other spin offs there is still some value here. If you are new to franchise this may not be the best entry point, but you don’t need any knowledge of the rest of the franchise to jump in either.
Despite its wonderful art direction, Super Neptunia RPG is obsolete, anachronistic and poor in contents.

Super Neptunia RPG is a game I tried incredibly hard to like. Despite its stunning visuals and interesting ideas, the game falls short in far too many basic areas. From horrible loading times to lifeless NPCs, strange design choices, and an overall feel of a rushed release, it's something I can only recommend to the die-hard Neptunia fans out there that feel they must see it all. To you brave few, I wish you luck.
Super Neptunia RPG is a diamond in the rough. It has the potential to be the best spin-off to date, but is so marred by gameplay issues and bugs that its successes are often overshadowed. Unless you're in love with Neptunia, then I'd suggest waiting for a patch. Hell, wait anyway.
Super Neptunia RPG for Switch is a gateway for the youngest to the world of Action RPG thanks to their combat and their sense of humor: if we forgive their mistakes, we will be able to enjoy their virtues, which are not few.

Overall, while Super Neptunia RPG won’t be winning the top spot for the series, it’s still a decent entry. Being developed by another studio can always come with some curveballs but the ideas that Artisan Studios have put forward made for a fun enough time that I do hope to see more of down the line.
To my eternal shame, I do not.
There's a bit of a love/hate relationship in play when reviewing a game like Super Neptunia RPG. Maybe a case of Stockholm Syndrome has crept in, but the time in this 2D world feels mostly well spent.
Super Neptunia RPG feels like the junk food of its genre, something easy and inoffensive to eat, but offering no real substance and resulting in something like regret. It’s unfortunate to say, because it’s not terrible, just bland and dissatisfying enough to leave it sitting beneath more compelling and accessible titles in the Switch library.
