The Surge 2 is full of surprises, but not the ones you'd expect.
The Surge 2 has some really satisfying moments. It’s worth an investment based on the wealth of customisation options available, solid progression and genuinely fun combat. These innovations go some way to making up for the lack engrossing story or meaningful characters. However, the overriding sense is that the positive traits of Surge 2 often feel suffocated, mainly by a lack of visual and narrative investment in the world that surrounds its core mechanics.
The Surge 2 isn't a bad game, but it gets some pretty big things wrong. In the end, I had some fun with it, but the broken parrying, awful enemy placement, and bland level layouts made it more of a slog.
Despite the level of challenge, The Surge 2 is always entertaining and fun to jump into. Mastery comes with persistence here, and while the lack of hand holding might have you replaying some parts a few times, the game never stops being thrilling.
The Surge 2 has some marked improvements over its predecessor but doesn’t color too far outside the lines.
The Surge 2 is frantic, punishing and moderately performing, to the point of entering in the ranking of the best soulslike. The flaws are there, but this new adventure will know how to get you right.

The Surge 2 is better than original. Good story and interesting gameplay with reworked leveling system, the ability to replenish health during the battle and dozens of unique weapons give you many options to search for martial art and self-realization. But loading screens, lack of detailed maps and grind are disappointment. However, even so the game is worth to go through it at least once - especially if you like Dark Souls.

The Surge 2 is a much better, engaging, and rewarding experience than the first game. Dozens of quality of life improvements, more interesting environments and characters, and the addition of parrying makes The Surge 2 a must-play for anyone who even slightly enjoyed their time with the first game. However, the game holds itself back from being an excellent souls-like with some poor lighting in areas, intense difficulty spikes, and a final area that is just plain unfun.
The Surge 2 is a definite improvement over the original game in pretty much every possible way. Combat is much faster and smoother, with an offense-oriented focus that makes it even more engaging, exploration is much more interesting thanks to the improved world design and the story will keep players moving from one dangerous district of Jericho City to the next in search of answers. The technical issues currently found in the game, unfortunately, do damage the experience a bit, and so does the fact that, despite the changes, The Surge 2 doesn't offer anything substantially different from the original game.
It can't hold a candle to a From Software joint, but The Surge 2 will satisfy those chomping at the bit for the next take on the genre.
For all of the work that Deck 13 has put into creating an intriguing city, the actual exploration is sometimes marred by technical issues.
The Surge 2 improves the gameplay of the predecessor with meaningful innovations, but has to accept compromises in graphics and bosses.

Sequels aren't always a safe prospect to bet on, but The Surge 2 is one investment that Souls-like fans definitely won't be disappointed with. The game's visceral combat, robust RPG elements, and immersive exploration mechanics come together to create a second outing that's just as compelling, if not more so, than its predecessor.
The Surge 2 is a very good Souls-like. The level design has really improved after the first episode, and the gameplay key features will procure good sensations to players addicted to challenges.

Despite some technical problems that ultimately sour the experience, The Surge 2 delivers a solid action-RPG adventure that's powered by its dystopian setting and unique combat system.
Perhaps most important, for the first time, I actually felt like I understood the Souls genre with The Surge 2. It's the first one that made me actually feel anything other than annoyed and confused and that I wanted to actually stick around to see the end of. It still has issues, and I'd love to see more enemy variety, but I can safely say that I'll be back for whatever Deck 13 has planned next.
The Surge 2 is a fun but demanding take on the Souls formula.
If you liked the original or are into the Soulsborne sub-genre, The Surge 2 is a game worth buying, even if you may want to wait for them to knock off a few bucks.
The Surge 2 does enough to tweak the formula of the original to iron out some of the creases that plagued the original game, these improvements overshadowing the game's hit-or-miss writing and occasionally recycled content.
