The Last of Us Part II Reviews
Some odd priorities, excruciating pacing, and weak character writing keep this intriguing game from being excellent, even if its gameplay and presentation have received large improvements.
It takes some chances with the story and some of those things might anger some people out there. They did me when they first happened but the game fully explains why they made the choices they did and by the end I saw and felt what they were going for. Naughty Dog closed out the PlayStation 3 generation with a must play title and with The Last of Us Part II they’ve once again done the same thing for the PlayStation 4.
The Last of Us 2 has to be experienced. Regardless of the information you read, the materials you see, the eavesdropping gossip - you are not ready for it. Naughty Dog has created an outstanding experience in a ruined world, offering great gameplay.

The Last of Us Part II isn't just best game by Naughty Dog to date gameplay-wise. It's also one of the few new games which can use a lot of delicate materials for the sake of storytelling and never look like something filled with unexplained opinions. It is essential, and because of that, It can get hard, dark, violent, and mature a lot of times. But at the same time, with picturing darkness by its full scary portrait, Neil Druckmann's TLoU Part II can show the light at the end of the tunnel in the most believable and meaningful way.

The Last of Us Part 2 shows us one thing, that the video games industry (unlike Cinema which is moving forward at a much slower pace) has a lot more unexplored potential. Part 2 raised the standards of video games so much, and in almost every aspect including gameplay, visuals, AI, and the [insane] amount of attention to details, that you would wonder how this much progress on a 7 year old hardware is even possible, and the good news is that this is not the cap, and we can even have better titles in the very bright future of this industry. Just imagine what Naughty Dog (and other elite studios) can do with the next generation of hardwares.

The Last of Us Part 2 just isn't as good as the first game, but nevertheless warrants a playthrough for most fans of the series.
A sequel that improves on all aspects of the first game save perhaps the plot, and an amazing mix of graphics, exploration, gunplay, dialog and voice acting performances. Marred perhaps only by a shallow plot and needless romance sub plots that shift the focus away from what made the first game so memorable.

The Last of Us Part II is a visceral and impacting game in many ways. By maintaining a well-determined base of his predecessor and refining the gameplay aspects, he manages to define it as a very cohesive continuation with everything that has been established, at the same time as the adjustments in the display and in fighting this even better finished product.

An incredible journey and a wonderful sequel. This is a huge step forward compared to the original game in terms of scale of the world, atmosphere, graphics, story and everything else. It will be tremendously difficult to compete with The Last of Us Part II for Game of the Year awards.

Is it one of the best PS4 exclusive games so far? Of course! But it's not flawless.

It makes me wonder why we’re even bothering with a “next generation” at all.
The Last of Us Part II offers more of the same great stealth gameplay, as you face overwhelming odds in increasingly challenging and haunting environments. But with an ambitiously structured narrative that doesn't pay off, and the new cast lacking chemistry, this adventure can't quite live up to its predecessor.
The Last of Us Part II is rather daring when it comes to its narrative. It tells a very mature tale of revenge and what the effects of civilization crashing down has brought on humanity. At times, it will push you out of your comfort zone as we see people being tortured, mutilated, and brutalized by even the protagonist herself.
While the end credits rolled, I felt hollow, hopeless, frustrated, and downright disgusted. I'll never play through it again. With that being said; there's no denying that what The Last of Us Part II accomplishes with its visuals, mood, and gameplay is nothing short of amazing.
The Last of Us Part II is a masterpiece that surpasses its predecessor. Naughty Dog has created a game with a perfect blend of classic and revolutionary mechanics, an outstanding technical and narrative experience. The story may divide opinions, but it reaches new heights of excellence.

The long-awaited sequel to the hit from 2013 arrived in glory and splendor, showcasing incredible, nearly photorealistic graphics and an excellent atmosphere. It, however, fells significantly short in terms of story and narrative, which in a game of this genre, where the narrative layer is as important as the gameplay itself, is a major disappointment. For the fans of graphics and graphical details, Naughty Dog's title will be a true Messiah, but players which focus on the story and were hoping for a worthy continuation of the story from the first game, might find themselves disappointed.

The Last of Us Part 2, like the first game is a masterpiece. Naughty Dog are mostly unmatched when it comes to storytelling, animation, music and visual fidelity and that is very much still the case here. The story is heavy, dark and full of twists and certainly feels like ‘Part 2’ of the events setup in the first game. It’s a shame we likely won’t get another Naughty Dog title for another 5 years, because I can’t wait to see what they’re brewing up next.
