Granblue Fantasy: Versus Reviews
Granblue Fantasy Versus is an incredibly beautiful fighting game with nice characters, atmospheric arenas and bright effects, which is great for the beginners, but does not forget about the depth of the combat system. The number of characters at the moment is quite poor, but they are well-developed and differ from each other in terms of gameplay. Given the long life of the progenitor and the already announced DLC, you can expect good support and a lot of content in future.

Granblue Fantasy: Versus is a fun, flashy and accessible fighting game, but it's weighed down by sparse content and questionable DLC.
Arc System Works has stayed true to its creative identity bringing an action packed fighter with stunning graphics, hopefully we see them bring more franchises to the genre. And while the game does suffer from a dull RPG mode, which does well to introduce newcomers to the series but lacks depth, difficulty and becomes repetitive way too quickly. The gaming system may be different from the norm, not what fighting may gamers may have been expecting, but they will definitely want to master this system as with the DLC and exposure it's getting, Granblue Fantasy Versus is set to become a household name very soon.
Granblue Fantasy: Versus makes a great first impression with its stellar visual flair but falls a bit short on the gameplay department with simplistic combat mechanics and a story mode that becomes boring a little too quickly.
Granblue Fantasy Versus is a fantastic game and an early pick for fighting game of the year.
A lengthy story mode, a host of characters to play as, and numerous online modes to fight your way through ensure Granblue Fantasy Versus definitely won't leave you wanting in terms of content. Learning through playing locally and online is distinctly better than relying on the game’s own resources. But if you’re looking for a casual, relatively simple fighter to play then it definitely fits the bill.
Granblue Fantasy Versus is commendable title. It provides a solid start to what could be an exceptional series, and while it’s not without its flaws, there’s more than enough to satisfy fighting game fans of all stripes while they wait for what could be a new series primed to reach its full potential with a bit of polish.
A very good fighing game with strong and accessible gameplay, and superb visuals.

As the west's first peek into the Granblue universe's gaming side, Granblue Fantasy Versus is a fighter that can stand alongside its peers in terms of depth, but in addition offers a simplistic control scheme that even those less familiar to the genre can get to grips with quickly and easily. RPG mode is a unique way to to learn the basics of fighting, even if this and other modes could have been a bit more fleshed out.
A welcome addition to the fighting game genre that makes the wait for Relink that little bit easier.
This gorgeous anime-style fantasy fighter is great for beginners and fans of 2D brawlers. It's fun, and flashy with genuinely endearing characters. However, a somewhat underdeveloped single-player experience and dated netcode hold it back from being truly top-tier.
Granblue Fantasy: Versus is a delightful spin-off from the mobile game, accessible for beginners and fun for veterans of the fighting genre, though the limited roster and lack of genre innovations are drawbacks.
If you love Granblue Fantasy or just fighting games in general, it’s a solid experience that will give you new characters and mechanics to play around with.
Despite an inconsistent RPG mode, Granblue Fantasy: Versus contains well-balanced and rewarding gameplay for fans, experienced players, and newcomers alike.
Alongside essentially being a new IP here in the West, Granblue Fantasy Versus bring a lot of new ideas with it which for the most part, work out in the end.
Granblue Fantasy: Versus is a robust, yet accessible fighting game, and should give a boon to the popularity of the franchise. There are plenty of systems to master, yet the game doesn't feature a steep learning curve, thankfully.
Granblue Fantasy Versus is the new fighting game from Arc System Works that is beautifully basic at first glance but has a lot hidden under the hood. Highly recommended for the fighting game fan, both casual and veterans a like.
Despite its shortcomings, I loved Granblue Fantasy Versus. I've never played the original game, but the characters do feel right at home in a fighting game setting. The 6 DLC characters should be good for variety when they come out, and if Dragon Ball FighterZ is anything to go by, we should be seeing season 2 in the next few months.
Granblue Fantasy Versus is the ultimate trick of Arc System Works: a fighter game that's easy to learn, perfect for beginners, but very satisfying at the same time.

A fantastic experience for anyone who enjoys fighting games, and probably a great one even if you're not a big fan of the genre.
