Swapping between your heroes as you tackle different tasks is fun, but the slow action and rigid platforming belong in the past

The classic Castlevania homage is back, and it brings Bloodstained's delightful sense of weirdness with it.

Thanks to its somewhat higher difficulty level and a wider cast of characters, Bloodstained: Curse of the Moon 2 is an extremely solid game that very slightly edges out its already excellent predecessor, and old-school Castlevania fans will absolutely love it.

Bloodstained: Curse of the Moon 2 takes some of the criticisms the first game received to heart. It takes risks, but only some pay off.

Bloodstained: Curse of the Moon 2 might annoy those who find this continuous use of 8-bit style graphics redundant. If it may appear pimply and technically "comfortable" in development, in reality the pillars that decree a good video game are always the same. Inti Create has created an intriguing action platformer with excellent gameplay potential. With an unexpected endgame for such a "small" title, Bloodstained: Curse of the Moon 2 brings with it the legacy of a gameplay of yesteryear, endowed with a rhythm and difficulty not for everyone, but with an internal consistency and a playful force worthy of a triple A.

Inti Creates could've done "more of the same" and called it a day, but the new characters lend Curse of the Moon 2 a ton of flexibility, the co-op support is commendable, and the subtle refinements can be found far and wide if you go back to play the original game after spending a weekend with the sequel.

While this won't keep you playing for much more than 10 hours, it's still a fantastic throwback to classic Castlevania that oldschool action platformer fans will love.

Bloodstained : Curse of the Moon 2 is a splendid sequel, that has a lot to offer to players that are in need of some classic Castlevania experience. It offers a good challenge and has some pretty brilliant new ideas and feels like a very good NES game, which is compliment, that is very enjoyable for two players. Question : where do we have to sign for a third episode ?

Worry not that Konami shows no interest in authorizing a new Castlevania game, for Inti Creates has picked up the slack.

Anyone who enjoyed Curse of the Moon, will be completely enamored with this sequel. It is more of the same, but the overall design is much more bold and ambitious. The new additions demand more dexterity of the player; and some challenges are white-knuckle, surgical platforming.

Bloodstained: Curse of the Moon 2 is expertly crafted by veteran developer Inti Creates, it is a highly replayable action game with a lot of options to play and accessible difficulty option. The only thing we didn't like is the jump mechanic and not being able to change direction after jumping.
