FIFA 16 stands as a high water mark for soccer games, and sports games as a genre. Its nicely balanced gameplay and innovative feature implementations reaffirm the franchise as an industry standard, and soccer fans everywhere are going to love it.
SOMA had the tools to come together to be something special, but like some of the AIs and machines in the game, it's not quite a complete product, but still quite enjoyable nonetheless.
With a host of additional features like Ranked Battles, night fights, weather events, clan warfare, and more factions scheduled to hit the high seas shortly after launch, World of Warships offers veteran MMO captains and World of War newbies alike a lot to write home about – in this case, loose lips float ships.
Take your $27.99 CAD and spend it on literally anything else, and I do mean, anything. It will result in a more satisfying purchase than the experience of playing this game.
Ultimately, Back To Bed is just sorely missing content even at the already low purchase price. It's a great idea with some fantastic art and a few really cool puzzles… but that's it. If you enjoy puzzle games and like the aesthetic, then Back To Bed is still priced very well and worth your money. Not a lot of studios can really portray that surreal feeling, but Bedtime Digital absolutely has and their game stands out because of it. However if you're looking for a difficult puzzler that will take you longer than an hour or two, keep looking.
[F]ans of the anime might find something of value here provided they can tolerate game design that was bad 10 years ago. Equally, fans of Dynasty Warriors will probably go nuts for this title as it rehashes the same old ideas with new characters. For my money, I'd steer entirely clear unless you have a borderline unhealthy obsession with One Piece or Dynasty Warriors, or just really want to wipe out thousands of brainless enemies (which is cool – everybody has their vices).
Everything we've played in The Taken King so far feels like an evolution of the gameplay. It's obvious that Bungie has listened to their critics and fans alike, and so far what we've experienced indicates changes have been made in gameplay that are for the better.
While it may not be perfect, and it still has some kinks to iron out, NHL 16 is the comeback the series needed, and it is a great title for those looking to jump back into the action.
Of course, Tearaway isn't without its faults. The combat is shallow and gets tedious near the end of the game, the story drags in parts and could have benefited from being an hour or two shorter, but Tearaway is such a rare type that those things are easily forgiven. It joins the mediums of video game and art together, then flips them topsy turvy until you're unsure of where one begins and the other ends. And it does this with enough heart to warm even the iciest of cynics.
Even before any consideration of steam promotional discounts, it'd be a gross mistake to say that Dropsy isn't worth the price of admission. For fans of the point and click adventure genre, aficionados of retro pixel artwork, or anyone looking to get lost in a kind of feel good world that warms you when it's not frightening you, this is a steal. Come on, give the creepy clown a hug.
If you crave an old school RTS with updated graphics and unique factions to play, then this might be what you are looking for. The game is solid and has a great amount of polish; it just lacks anything innovative enough to keep players enticed for too long.
I Am Bread is for a very special kind of gamer. It's for a patient soul, someone who appreciates the absurd, and someone who wants a break from the norm. I appreciate I Am Bread for what it is and the hilarity that comes along with physics based games. But it's a take it or leaven it deal in this case. Either you'll love I Am Bread for its quirky charm, or you'll hate it for it's challenging and thin gameplay.
A few drawbacks in the game won't stop you from enjoying this in-depth strategy game and pouring an exorbitant amount of time into propelling your Lord to the top of the Feudal food chain.
Phantom Pain is hands down one of the best game's I have played in a long time. The open world environment offers you an endless amount of ways to play. Phantom Pain is a game you can sink over 100 hours into and still come back for more. Even if you haven't played past Metal Gear games, Phantom Pain is a great place to start.
If you really sit down and take a good long look at the big picture, Super Mario Maker could go down as the greatest Mario game ever made. It bridges Mario across thirty years of platforming, and puts the power in the player's hands to play Mario how they want. I myself cannot wait to see what the rest of the world has waiting for me to play, and I in turn can't wait to share my creations with the rest of you.
All in all Disney Infinity 3.0 marks a return to form that was lost from 1.0 to 2.0. It's nostalgic for the parents while being accessible for the young ones and makes for a perfect 'play games with your kids' situation. When you're marketing some of the most loved IPs of all time it's a shame to let them go to waste with poor gameplay and Disney hasn't forgotten this.
It certainly is a solid game – albeit a short one at 3 levels – with a more deliberate, rather than twitchy, pace that will appeal to a certain slice of the gamer spectrum. For others the boredom may set in very quickly.
With so many other fantastic open world adventure games on the market and as we head into the busy gaming season, there stands a good chance Mad Max gets lost in the shuffle, which would be a shame. Mad Max' glorious vehicle combat and unrelenting upgrade system lends itself to a game you can easily soak 50 plus hours into.
I really tried to find something I wouldn't like with this game but I couldn't. At this point in time Forza Motorsport 6 is the definitive sim/circuit racing experience that is accessible to all levels of racers on the current generation of consoles.
Placed alongside Endless Legend's previous expansion, 'Guardians', Shadows is similarly priced and has a lot more to offer in the way of content. How that content is introduced to the player could use some work, but the amount given is neither too much nor too little.
