The Survivalists Reviews
Some will get a lot out of The Survivalists, and we'd find it difficult to argue that it isn't fun – but your mileage will seriously vary on how quickly you burn out on its lackadaisical approach to the danger that really defines the survival genre. As an entry-level take on the principles it's pretty good, but even the least experienced survivor will reach endgame gear quickly and find there's just not a whole lot left to do. Updates could (and hopefully will) mitigate this issue, but The Survivalists – as it is now – feels a little... well... deserted.
The Survivalists is the latest in a crowded genre. Bright visuals can't hide that it is a fairly light experience at present, but there is some enjoyment to be had if you can look past the slightly uncomfortable sub-text of its central mechanic.
The Survivalists is a good survival game with the essence of The Escapists. The exploration and coop works so well, but the crafting system is awkward.

The Survivalists is a calm and serene survival game and monkey butler training broken up by spurts of risky combat and dungeon crawling with your trained monkey attack squad. If it wasn't for a few awkward design decisions it'd be fantastic, but it's still a good survival game that you can tackle with friends online.
The Survivalists is a fun survival sandbox which can be played both as an arcade adventure, hunting for every treasure and secret hidden around the island, and with a more casual approach by trying to just build some kind of boat and leave. Plenty of situations to face, a huge amount of structures, artifacts and recipes to unlock and experiment with. Each run will be an unique adventure. Monkey training is the icing on the cake. Pretty, fast and responsive, it will keep you in front of the screen for a long time. The game also features a multiplayer mode that unfortunately I couldn't try.

The Survivalists is just an OK game that you will probably enjoy for a few weeks and then put away and never play again. It's a shame because it has the foundations of something excellent, but it's all just too simple and tedious. If the mechanics were better, the crafting was easier, there were more things to build, more types of mobs, and some clear objective like escaping the island or fighting a series of mini-bosses, we wouldn't be talking about a little throw-away game, here; we'd be talking about a true hidden gem.
Interesting and charming in its own way, The Survivalists will keep you entertained in short bursts as you try to complete the main objective and craft items to stay alive. Unfortunately, the AI system of your monkey companions is quite cumbersome and clunky. You'll often find yourself more annoyed than delighted due to all the monkeying around.
The Survivalists is a great sandbox game that will have you exploring for hours, whether you’re playing by yourself or with friends. With its engaging and colourful pixelated environment, it’s easy to while away the hours roaming the game’s beaches or sailing the seas. If you don’t mind a non-linear gaming experience and you’re not afraid to explore the world in your own time, this game will be a joy to play.
The Survivalists is adrift on a sea of similar titles, struggling to find relevance and survive amid the near endless competition.
The Survivalists is a survival game that's surprisingly accessible and fun.

Team17 have done it again with another endearingly designed, vastly comprehensive fun experience. The Survivalists is one of the best crafting games that I have played and one of my favourite games of the year.
The Survivalists is not one of the most original games of all time, but it manages to deliver everything that it proposes to the player, with a great creation system (although it is more truncated than it should be), a neat pixel art look and secrets every time more curious for the more dedicated, offering an extra dose of fun to play alone or with other people.

Team17 has become one of my favorite publishers because they always seem to deliver quality games and The Survivalists is no exception. It’s a great little survival game that you can enjoy with friends online or alone with your army of monkeys as I did.
The new title from infamous Team17 is an standard survival game that manages to entertain, even though it cannot add anything new to the genre.

The Survivalists has its flaws - despite the lengthy crafting system and sometimes unnecessarily difficult guessing what the game actually wants from you, it is a pretty good sandbox survival title. I would recommend this game to more than one survivalist and monkey. So if you're a fan of the genre and preferably have another friend on hand to go along with you, The Survivalist is at least worth a try. I give the title a 6/10, as it has its flaws and there is still room for improvement.

As I have noted a few times before, in general survival games haven’t tended to be a favorite of mine in the past...
What one item would you take with you to a desert island? It’s a question frequently asked and one with many answers. Some say they would bring their mobile phone or their favourite book. But in The Survivalists, the question is as irrelevant as these items would be on a remote island. You will start the game stranded, starving and scared on a beach with no connection to civilization; you know, just like in real life. In this sense, The Survivalists is fairly realistic in its setting. However, the morbidity of being stranded on a desert island is whisked away by a cool breeze, sun-soaked beaches, and a wealth of resources to help you survive in the middle of paradise.
The Survivalists' cute pixelated graphics may be pleasing and the prospect of a procedurally generated island to explore is undeniably tantalising; but the sheer number of incredibly frustrating issues present in this title, especially when coupled with the hefty asking price, ironically make The Survivalists one game you could certainly survive without.
The Survivalists is fun, if not a little limited in its current state. Fortunately, there’s lots more coming down the tracks with the game’s extensive content roadmap which will surely flesh out the experience even more and make it interesting for months to come.
Putting together a lot of good elements like the survival and construction , The Survivalist it’s a great game to let time be and get some chill gaming experience Get some elements of survival, a colorful and funny graphics and there you have a wonderful experience and some good fun about it And you can try to survive with it all!
