It Takes Two Reviews
A game that provides a healthy dollop of pathos with its co-operative fun, It Takes Two is an unadulterated shot of joy brimming with inventive puzzles and smart ideas. Sure, some of its metaphors for the breakdown happening in May and Cody's relationship might be a little heavy-handed, but there's so much to love here that it's hard to care about such trifles. It Takes Two is a breath of fresh air and total co-op nirvana.
It Takes Two is a one-of-a-kind experience. There is a joy and whimsy to the entire game and so much variety it’ll keep players entertained and surprised from beginning to end. The world is so detailed and gorgeous and the cohesion between storytelling and gameplay is incredibly impressive. It’s the kind of game that proves there’s still plenty of room for innovation in games.
It Takes Two is a terrific game, albeit one that's hard to recommend without a certain mindset. 3D platformer enthusiasts sure won’t be disappointed. And if they look for unique ways to cooperate with other players, they've just found an excellent proposition. But the narration is a different beast; a much weaker one. It's definitely a step down copared to A Way Out.

It Takes Two wears a lot of hats, and each of them well. It’s a romantic comedy, a challenging shooter, a head-scratching puzzler and more. While it has a somewhat predictable narrative (less so than A Way Out, for the most part), it’s still charming and full of Pixar-like whimsy. Find a loved one and get into this one; you’ll certainly be glad you did.
Although the story of Cody and May doesn't meet the standards set by the game's varied gameplay, It Takes Two sees the continued form of Josef Fares and his team at Hazelight in crafting wonderfully creative and engaging worlds for players to share and collaborate in. It Takes Two is a co-op experience that's second to none, which offers more ways than you can imagine to experience these larger than life play spaces.
It Takes Two is a great co-op game to add to your Nintendo Switch library. It could even be something fun for you and your special someone to do on rainy days, or even a weekly date night. I would have really loved some side quests, or collectibles, but I still had a great time playing It Takes Two.
It Takes Two joins the Switch's growing library of excellent ports and offers players a version of the game that holds up on its own, considering the hardware limitations.
There is no doubt that It Takes Two is one of the best two-person cooperative games in recent years. From the moment I entered this wonderful world, I was bombarded by senses from all aspects throughout the game and shocked this masterpiece of creativity and imagination. The only question is, to Josef fares and Hazelight, this is the summit or just a good beginning?

While it's story and characters could have used more work, It Takes Two is fantastic co-op game that moves masterfully from genre to genre and never overstays its welcome.
It Takes Two is thus far one of the year's best platformers, best overall games, and can likely stake a claim as one of the best co-op games ever created.
It Takes Two feels unique and more than worth exploring with a person you love

A fun, gorgeous platforming romp that makes great use of its split screen-only twist in both gameplay and narrative. Hazelight proves that co-op lightning can definitely strike twice.
The co-op action here is memorable, ambitious, and quite unlike anything we’ve played in a while.
It Takes Two is a brilliant co-op game that keeps throwing fresh, fun and inventive mechanics throughout its duration that make for one of the most memorable gaming experiences in recent years.
There's no question It Takes Two is a well-crafted game. There's no debate it is somewhat fresh in its execution and should be applauded for following its own unique vision. Heck, no one would argue it's not fun. Its shortcomings, however, do make one wonder if others got a little drunk on the novelty of it all. Instead, while it offers a somewhat refreshing take on the platforming genre this is mostly by virtue of being an exclusively co-op experience. It could have benefited from more refined characters, as well as better online support on Nintendo Switch. Really, where It Takes Two is going to be best suited is on a couch with a partner playing together.
undefined. It Takes Two is a very fun game that should honestly be about half its length, but the Switch very much does not feel like the place you should go to play it. The major graphical downgrades and added loading screens make it hard to recommend no matter how good the gameplay feels or how clever the writing is. If you're looking for a fun game to play alongside your significant other or a friend, It Takes Two is among your better options in general, but you'd likely have a far better experience on PlayStation or PC than on Switch.
Is Switch the best place to play It Takes Two? Probably not: it’s a beautiful game which truly deserves the power of a high-end PC or next-gen console to really shine. But that doesn’t mean that this isn’t a worthy port. If Switch is your only gaming format, or even if you simply want to enjoy it again, this time handheld, you’re going to be in for a treat.
It Takes Two shows us that today, more than ever, the game industry should be taken seriously because while sharing an attractive and enjoyable experience, it can express profound concepts in the fullness of elegance.
