In any case, we are faced with two good RPGs, which represent an ideal entry point for the new generations both in the universe of turn-based JRPGs and in that of Monster Hunter.

Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin is an interesting take on the Monster Hunter series. Honing in on the RPG mechanics, it changes the series in a way that makes it way more approachable than the main series.
Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin manages to transform the classically frenetic Monster-Hunter gameplay into a turn-based JRPG to great success.
Monster Hunter Stores 2: Wings of Ruin has made me a believer that not all JRPGs will rub me the wrong way. Its charming, lovely story mixed with its wonderfully engaging combat and being able to kidnap monsters create a fantastic experience which also adds to the depth of Monster Hunter's world and lore.
f. When it all comes together, Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin feels as epic and engaging as any other entry in the long-running series, albeit in turn-based RPG form.
Fans and newcomers to the series, genre, or spin-off sub-series alike will find a lot to enjoy in Monster Hunter Stories 2, which, despite a few stumbles, presents one of the stronger RPG offerings on the Switch.

Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin it's a little more than a "more of the same". The story, like the Monsties, are fun and engaging, but don't expect a masterpiece unless you're an hardcore Monster Hunter fan.

Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin is a solid turn-based monster collector that still manages to feel like a Monster Hunter game. If you're a fan of games like Pokemon Sword and Shield, or you just can't get enough Monster Hunter, you'll definitely want to check out this game.
Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin is very much so a Monster Hunter game. Its main focus still falls on the core loop of battling monsters, gathering materials, and using them to craft badass gear suited for different situations. Infused with a rock-paper-scissors turn-based combat system and creature collection elements, it does, nevertheless, provide a different spin on things that adds extra reasons to sink your teeth into its inherent grind.
Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin is an excellent RPG and addition to the Monster Hunter series. Regardless of if you are a fan of the series, a first-timer, or just a fan of RPGs in general, I highly recommend giving this consideration.
Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin has a deep combat system, and players who enjoy very complex character building mechanics will find that there is limitless potential for any monstie. It’s held back by technical limitations on Switch, but that shouldn’t be an issue for the PC version. The only problem you’ll have is fighting the urge to stuff Navirou in a refrigerator.
A successful spin-off with a fun battle system while keeping several elements of the main series, just in need of the same level of care as its older sister.

Despite the cliché story scenario, the game does have its surprising moments that can get you emotional rather quickly. At the end of the day, I believe Wings of Ruin's lighthearted narrative is perfectly suited for a Monster Hunter game that's all about hatching monsters to help you hunt the same monsters.
