Theatrhythm: Final Bar Line is exactly what it promises to be in the best possible way. It's a simple, addictive and incredibly delightful rhythm game set to some of the best songs in gaming. The RPG elements add some nice customization and Final Fantasy feel, but the real star of the show is the songs. With enough customization and options to make even the rhythmically inept feel comfortable, it's a game for anyone who has ever hummed "Locke's Theme or Answers" without realizing it. Just be prepared to lose hours upon hours trying to master it.
It’s generally better to have more options than fewer, particularly if there’s no fixed “best” way to enjoy the game. And Theatrhythm: Final Bar Line sets an exceptionally high standard in that regard. If, indeed, this is the last entry in the series, Square Enix have certainly found a means of letting it go out with a bang.
If you consider yourself a Final Fantasy fan, there is every reason to invest in Theatrhythm Final Bar Line. Rammed to bursting with songs that have helped to make the series what it is, there are tracks for everybody in here, with plenty of accessibility options to tinker with to suit all levels of player, including a fun RPG-lite mechanic that can be explored for extra incentive to replay favourite tunes. The DLC is vast and off-putting, but there is so much in the base game to tackle that it can be safely ignored.
Final Bar is an encore for Final Fantasy fans. Its control has successfully transitioned from touchscreen to traditional control and maintains a good level of difficulty. Although there is a long list of available songs, there are few modes and rewards for casual players. It is a full-fledged rhythm game that stands out from the rest due to its RPG elements.

Theatrhythm is a lovingly made game that celebrates Final Fantasy, the fans of the series and Square Enix with music they've been making for 35 years. With its difficult to master but easy to learn gameplay, incredibly large music library and cute character designs, I highly recommend every Final Fantasy fan to give it a try.

Quibbles aside, Theatrhythm Final Bar Line is exactly what it's selling - a celebration of 35 years' worth of Final Fantasy music that's packed with nostalgia and rhythm game mechanics. With songs from other Square Enix IPs available as bonus content, there's still plenty to keep players busy even after the ending. Theatrhythm Final Bar Line is an enjoyable, whimsical rhythm game that should appeal to Final Fantasy fans, no matter where they started with the series. As celebrations go, this one's a winner.
Theatrhythm Final Bar Line is the platonic ideal of fanservice. There are plenty of people who would have been happy with a port of Curtain Call or simply bringing All-Star Carnival over to the West, so it’s a delightful surprise to see just how much effort and care has been poured into a title like this. It is endlessly charming, bursting with content, and treats its content with reverence. This is a game built with love for Final Fantasy, and that expression of love is resplendent, infectious, and mellifluous. I love this game with my entire thesaurus.

I absolutely adore Theatrhythm Final Bar Line, with the brilliant rhythm-based gameplay and rich song selection making it a real treat for Final Fantasy fans. The accessibility of the gameplay makes it easy for just about anyone to play, whilst the complexities introduced in the higher difficulties ensure that it always remains entertaining no matter how many hours you’ve already put into the game. Add to that the rewarding party building elements, the host of unlockables, and the fact that you have over 380 songs to play through, and you’ll quickly find that there’s plenty to love about this celebration of all things Final Fantasy.

Once you think the novelty has waned, Theatrhythm continues to surprise you by adding new addictive activities to keep you interested in its quests, extras, and even with other like-minded fans. Theatrhythm Final Bar Line is a gift from Square Enix and indieszero, allowing us to relive our original Final Fantasy through its music and also allowing us to experience new ones to broaden our scope. Many crossover Final Fantasy titles seem to waver at this opportunity when the novelty ends, but if there’s one thing that’s completely timeless, it’s how the music of Final Fantasy has evolved through the years.
Theatrhythm Final Bar Line contains an artistic style that is still charming and charismatic in its own theatrical way. In addition, the game brings significant improvements, especially in gameplay, and a very vast content of music from Final Fantasy and even from several other Square Enix IPs, via DLC, celebrating like no other game until then the valuable legacy of soundtracks from JRPGs.
