Teslagrad 2 is a fantastic adventure that's over way too soon. The puzzles and platforming are some of the best in the genre, but given your breadth of moves the game doesn't come close to fully exploring what it can do.

Uninvolved narrative, not the most interesting world and weak post-game turns Teslagrad 2 into a something you will probably leave after an evening of play. Pick it up on a sale if you feel like you may like it.

Teslagrad 2 is a bit of a fail. It has some interesting puzzle platform gameplay, but its Metroidvania elements are too simple. And it feels like there was very little creativity behind any aspect of it. Almost like the developers were forced into making it. The game’s biggest problem is that it’s way too short. I could see people beating it in 2 hours on a first playthrough. I can’t imagine how fans of the original wouldn’t be disappointed by this sequel, and it’s definitely not going to earn the Teslagrad franchise any new fans.

Teslagrad 2 is built for fans of the original. If you're looking for a longer campaign, you'll have to look elsewhere, but if you find a good deal on a bundle, pick it up. Play the first, then the second. Maybe speed run them the second time around. Graphics and sound are amazing, and the game will definitely give a challenge. But that could be where it's electromagnetism stops.

My feelings on Teslagrad 2 are simply disappointment. It's a fairly solid Metroidvania with some frustrating moments and a vagueness that rubbed me the wrong way at times. It's undeniably beautiful to watch in action, and that helps carry it across the line.

Ultimately, Teslagrad 2 is an agreeable successor with satisfying traversal and enjoyably challenging puzzles and boss fights. But with a short runtime and a lack of hints and guidance it fails to really improve upon its predecessor. If you enjoyed Teslagrad and are looking for more of the same, this sequel will suffice.

After a decade of waiting, Teslagrad 2 is undeniably a great follow-up to the original. The game is gorgeous, movement feels excellent, and the world is a joy to explore. What's here is very strong, but the short length means it's all over too quickly, which may come as a disappointment given the 10-year gap between this sequel and the original game. Despite that, if you are a fan of the original Teslagrad, or games with great mobility in general, you will surely enjoy Teslagrad 2.

Teslagrad 2's momentum-based platforming makes for speedy fun, even if it doesn't quite have the same spark as its predecessor.

Teslagrad 2 builds on already interesting mechanics to suit a beautiful new setting in a way that definitely pays off – and looks gorgeous doing it.

Overall, Teslagrad 2 is a fun and engaging and succinct platformer, with superb presentation, and great environmental narrative design. If you're in the market for a varied and engaging puzzle platformer I would recommend giving Teslagrad 2 a spin.

Teslagrad 2 is a game that is worth trying out for fans of metroidvanias - but you have to accept that everything can end suddenly right when it's getting to the best part.

Nearly a decade on, Teslagrad 2 strides into view where the original left off, with a modest but still entertaining palette of magnetism-based gameplay and precision-platforming alike.

2D platformer is mainly interesting for its art style, but it is also enjoyable to play with a good gamepad. You will especially appreciate the creative puzzle.

Teslagrad 2 is a puzzle platform that offers a unique type of gameplay that you don't usually get to use. It is quite short, but it's an enjoyable time while it lasts!

Teslagrad 2 still focuses on the imprecise physics of electromagnetism mechanics, but the structure transition was inconsistent, guiding the player through a short campaign that induces linearity and does not encourage exploring the interconnected world. Fortunately, the Nordic setting, the pleasant visuals, the folk songs and the moments of agility provide a solid identity that results in a good experience, even if it's not impressive.

Teslagrad 2 may not be the sequel that I was hoping it would be after all these years but it's still a very good Metroidvania follow-up that'll have you giddily flinging Lumina around its hazardous environments as you amass a collection of cards and enjoyable upgrades.

Richly decorated and full of detail, Teslagrad 2 goes for a minimal narrative approach, using no text whatsoever, but there's no instance where players are going to notice the absence of words. What could have gone better, however, is the combat system - or rather, the lack thereof, as Teslagrad 2 relies entirely on quick non-combat moves from its protagonist, which works good most of the time, but it could have been worked differently when it comes to the game's combat, especially the boss fights.

The sound mixed with the hand drawn art makes for a very clean look and feel in Teslagrad 2. Between that and the gameplay, which has some flaws, but is still pretty good, there is a lot to like in this long-awaited sequel. Teslagrad 2 looks great, sounds cozy, has a ton of interesting puzzles, even more so if you’re looking for all the collectibles, and as said before, the only real issue is how floaty it can feel in some cases, something you can get used to after a while.

A bitesize Metroidvania with neat physics and magnetic walls galore, Teslagrad 2’s charming art style and streamlined gameplay are a treat to play. It’s a shame that fiddly controls and a lack of any real story hold it back from the heights its other elements achieve when considered on their own.
