It has incredible smooth visuals but all the rest is a bit meh.

Naruto X Boruto: Ultimate Ninja Storm Connections is a game with quality, but with very little ambition. It refines some of the gameplay that comes from several previous titles, further expands the range of playable characters, and offers an original Boruto story that is better than the most optimistic of expectations. But it disappoints tremendously with the lack of love and care it puts into its rather incomplete Naruto story mode, which is nothing more than a series of copies/pastes of past games. There is quality here, but it is a somewhat frustrating celebration of one of the best manga/animes of recent times. It could perfectly be the ultimate Ultimate Ninja Storm experience, but it's just another cobblestone – and one of those poorly placed ones that causes the most distracted to trip over it.

NARUTO X BORUTO Ultimate Ninja STORM CONNECTIONS is quite the disappointment. Presenting as a step back for the series in many ways, there are simply better adaptations to spend your time with. The game comes with a middling story combined with a lack of spectacle that serves as a mediocre attempt at celebrating the IP. Whilst some fun can be had with the stacked roster and it's easy to jump into, you'll often be reminded that there are greener pastures elsewhere.

NARUTO X BORUTO Ultimate Ninja STORM CONNECTIONS was to be the perfect opus for all fans of the franchise, and even for new players wishing to discover this universe. The basic premise is interesting, with spectacular battles, a large character roster and accessible gameplay. Unfortunately, the story mode aims to summarize the franchise too quickly, and leaves out several key battles. What's more, the new Boruto storyline is rather weak overall. Not to mention the visual quality, which doesn't meet today's high standards. I'd mainly recommend this title to players who are already familiar with CyberConnect2's other opuses and who will enjoy online battles.

Like the long adventure from which it was inspired, Naruto X Boruto Ultimate Ninja Storm Connections is full of ups and downs, with a slight edge to the highs. In the end, we have a game aimed at fans of the work and anime in general, especially for those who want the complete collection now and don't want to wait for promotions.

CyberConnect2's new game feels like a missed opportunity, with a lazily built Naruto story mode and identical gameplay to the past games. Boruto's story mode and the huge roster of characters help it to partly recover, but it's too little, especially for a game that is supposed to celebrate 20 years of Naruto history.

Naruto X Boruto Ultimate Ninja Storm Connections is another serviceable entry in the series, and while it doesn't break or tread new ground, players can expect a fun but shallow outing with some of their favorite ninjas in the Naruto series. Even with over 130 characters, the game is bogged down by a lack of modes, lackluster English voices, and a new story that felt predictable. While it did have some high points and some emotional moments, it doesn't stand out too much, which might be a disappointment.

With Naruto x Boruto: Ultimate Ninja Storm Connections, Bandai and Cyberconnect 2 promised to bring the series into the modern era of fighting games. The title succeeds in convincing with its novel story and gameplay, but in general it feels mostly like an expansion of the Ninja Storm titles.

Naruto X Boruto: Ultimate Ninja Storm Connections celebrates 15 years of the Storm series with intense combat and a vast number of characters. However, the lack of significant new features leaves the product much closer to a repetition than an evolution. In short, the true essence of the Leaf Ninja's journey is best explored in the numbered titles of this saga.

Naruto X Boruto Ultimate Ninja Storm Connections is good mindless fun, but folks looking for depth (in story & combat) should look elsewhere.

Nostalgic about the past, and hopeful for the future, Naruto x Boruto Ultimate Ninja Storm Connections is more than just a simple revisitation. While there was a fear it would tread water like its fellow side-story spin-off, Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm Revolution, this collection provides ample reason to revel in the past, reminisce about the passage of time, and look forward to a bright future.

This series compilation offers all of the above parts with minor additions to the story and many playable characters, with a simple and entertaining combat system, but it did not succeed in telling the story in an attention-grabbing way and lacked any praiseworthy new additions.

Naruto X Boruto Ultimate Ninja Storm Connections presents a more complete story package than all the titles made from the Naruto anime. Still, it does not provide a pleasant and exciting experience from its story parts. This title hasn't managed to give a brilliant performance to continue the successful path of the Naruto and Boruto game series. However, the gameplay experience is entertaining and will keep you hooked for hours.

As an anime fan who hasn’t watched Naruto in almost a decade and has never seen beyond one arc of Boruto, this game made me excited for the franchise in a way I honestly hadn’t felt in a long time. But my view of Naruto x Boruto Ultimate Ninja Storm Connections as my own reentry is a subjective point that the game’s mechanics don’t necessarily do enough to overtake the nostalgia and stand on its own.

Naruto X Boruto Ultimate Ninja Storm Connections continues the celebrated series but falls short in innovation, heavily relying on familiar combat systems and character rosters. Despite this, it offers an impressive array of over 100 characters, simplified controls for newcomers, and enhanced online multiplayer features, along with two single-player story modes that revisit the Naruto series and introduce a new Boruto-centric plot.

Naruto X Boruto Ultimate Ninja Storm Connections is more Ultimate Ninja Storm. That’s great for me, as I enjoy the game series and the source material, but if you’ve played every Ninja Storm game, this won’t provide you with too much new content. Still, it’s a ton of fun – especially for Naruto fans who want to partake in battles between any combination of characters one can imagine.

I’m not too big a fan of how much was stripped away in Ninja Storm’s Connections History mode, but it still does a good job of picking the right moments to sum up for Naruto-noobies while still offering fun fights alongside Boruto’s extra story. Ninja Storm fans will know what they’re coming back to, this time with a larger roster than Storm 4. Connections is ultimately a great little collection of all things Naruto.

Naruto x Boruto: Ultimate Ninja Storm Connections ultimately falls short of the lofty goals many had for it. Although the gameplay changes are refined and welcomed, an overall lack of content depth looms and makes me yearn for more. Ultimately, Storm Connections is a title I recommended waiting to pickup, as the content is not justified for the $60 price point.

Naruto X Boruto: Ultimate Ninja Storm Connections is more of a battle collection with bonuses than a fully-fledged new installment. The story mode only covers about a quarter of the fights from Naruto to the end of the Shippuden saga and the "Special Story" mode has too many filler fights that drag it out. But the fun and varied battles with the immense number of characters, the great visuals and finally 60fps make the actual gameplay a pleasure. Nevertheless, it can only be recommended to hardened Naruto fans.
