God of War Ragnarok: Valhalla Reviews
God of War Ragnarok: Valhalla isn't just a fun free DLC; it's a fitting epilogue to the entire God of War series.
With its roguelite take on the base game's formula, engaging story, decent amount of new content and excellent accessibility, God of War Ragnarok: Valhalla is a great expansion that is worthy of any God of War's fans time. The focus on combat may turn some players off, but it's only a minor issue in an expansion that could have been easily sold as paid DLC.
God of War Ragnarok: Valhalla is a brilliant addition to a brilliant game. Not only does it remix the core title's combat in a compelling, highly replayable roguelite mode, it does so with Santa Monica's usual cinematic style, weaving in meaningful story that'll keep you hooked while it lasts. Fans of the series really shouldn't pass on this - and, because it's totally free, there's no reason to do so.
From the very beginning, Valhalla proves capable of subverting the expectations of users thanks to the merits of a package that enriches the offer of God of War Ragnarök with an intimate and emotional epilogue, which closes in beauty not only the Norse cycle of Kratos' adventures, but the saga in its entirety.

God of War Ragnarok: Valhalla is not only a fun and addictive roguelite mode where the game's excellent combat is allowed to shine brighter than ever, it's also a rewarding, introspective narrative experience, and one that's especially unmissable for long-time series fans. Given that it's free, there's really no reason not to play it.
Kratos is here to contemplate his future purpose and learns to forgive himself for his past deeds while still acknowledging and learning from them, making for a potent mix of the Greek and Norse sides of the franchise with some returning characters, locations and other bits that I wouldn’t want to spoil. It’s a treat for longtime fans as well as a very appreciated bit of history for those who jumped on in recent entries.
At the end of God of War: Ragnarok Valhalla, I saw that Santa Monica Studios knew exactly how to end the story - Kratos, the aging hero, needed to step out of the shadows of his past and face the future.

We wouldn't object if they sold such a big, comprehensive and good DLC. But the fact that they're releasing it for free is incredible. And the fact that it complements Ragnarök even more is priceless.

God of War Ragnarok Valhalla is therefore a content lovingly conceived by the developers for all fans of the saga, capable of reawakening every memory created in the company of the most famous Spartan in the world of video games, as well as representing the perfect closure to a majestic, fascinating and well-crafted chapter, which is now seen to be settling the proverbial cherry on top.

At the end of the day, it’s hard not to recommend a free DLC. God of War Ragnarok: Valhalla is an excellent companion piece to go along with the main game. Its highlights are the narrative and gameplay elements that focus on Kratos as a character and how he copes with his new place in the world.
Valhalla feels like a sweet Christmas Gift. And a gift is a gift, no matter what.

The best compliment for this free DLC is that it comes across as a work of love, put together for a distinct purpose and smashes that target beyond all expectations. Even against the growing scale and scope of AAA games, this smaller slice stands tall and mighty as an essential piece of the puzzle, giving fans more to enjoy and love. For the low price of nothing, it represents a return of immense value, as well as a therapeutic journey that all would enjoy.
The Rogue-lite approach to gameplay is a very interesting treatment that could be a good way to extend the life of this single-player production. It's a good way to delve back into the thick of endless battles without having to go through the campaign again. However, marathons are boring in the long run. Unfortunately, though, Valhalla doesn't have the one more round syndrome. However, once in a while, making such a run is a great idea to spend your free time.

God of War Ragnarok: Valhalla delivers some juicy story and offers plenty of entertaining gameplay. It’s a great excuse to jump back into the fray with videogame’s second favorite Spartan.
God of War Ragnarök: Valhalla represents an extraordinary addition to the God of War Ragnarök universe, transcending expectations by offering an immersive experience full of challenges. Its exceptional quality not only expands Kratos' narrative, but also provides an exciting journey rich in details, making it essential for fans of the saga.

The new rogue-like gameplay of God of War Ragnarök: Valhalla took a little time to get used to. But after getting used to it, it’s no question that it incredibly adds much more to the DLC, let alone the combat, and overall, an enthralling replayable experience in Valhalla, and would welcome this new type of gameplay in future God of War projects. To top it all off, again, it must be said the DLC is totally free. This is a DLC you’d be happy to pay for, but you don’t need to. Imagine something this great doesn’t require you to reach for your credit card.
God of War Ragnarok: Valhalla might have been an unexpected DLC but it tied off a lot of loose ends in the entire story as a whole. A lot of unanswered questions were answered, and the challenge to get to them is well worth every bit of effort needed to get to them. And while the shift to the Roguelike challenge was odd, it’s a great change of pace that fits the game brilliantly. However, there is the small matter of certain secret end-game content that needs to be discovered for the DLC to make sense, which might confuse the people who didn’t dig deeper after taking down Odin.
God of War Ragnarok Valhalla is a delightful expansion that not only enhances the combat experience it also deepens Kratos' development as he faces both past and future. Being free to download makes the expansion a no-brainer recommendation.
