STALKER: Legends of the Zone Trilogy Reviews
Alas, one big gripe remains for all three titles and that's text size. On handheld, this isn't too much of an issue, but on some displays you'll be squinting to see the dialogue window's contents. This is a holdover from the original PC version of the games and it's a shame that these genuinely great remasters didn't address this.
The slightly uneven middle child of the trilogy still boasts excellent performance, myriad control options and a crisp soundscape that shines on Switch.
For a game that came out on PC almost two decades ago, it looks great on Nintendo's console. Resolution is stable when docked and handheld, with motion smoothing that makes rapid camera movement fluid. Options are plentiful, with copious sliders for controller sensitivity. There’s only a gamma slider for visuals, though, and it would have been helpful to enlarge the tiny text, a strain to read on a large screen.
A passionate work of research and conservation that brings to light three splendid chapters and a game design idea that I can't wait - like many others in the editorial team - to experience directly in one fell swoop. On the other hand, the second chapter of the franchise is increasingly missing. And I can't wait already.

Ultimately, Stalker Legends of the Zone Trilogy is an unmissable collection only and exclusively for those players who do not have a PC to recover the three old glories or who, for some particular reason, absolutely want to play them (or replay them) with a controller.

Whether you're an old-school fan revisiting the horrors of the Zone or a new player curious to dive in, S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Legends of the Zone Trilogy offers excellent value for money with a gameplay loop that still holds up.
We wholeheartedly recommend S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Legends of the Zone Trilogy for both its gameplay mix of action, stealth and roleplaying and for the very convenient price of the package, which will cost you less than a new release on Nintendo Switch. The quality of the port is great too, so we don't see a single reason not to give these games a go.

In spite of its technical issues, S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Legends of the Zone Trilogy is still an engrossing and tense collection of some of the best twitch-based survival-horror action RPG that also happens to be set in a radioactive Russian wasteland. The atmosphere in these titles are some of the best executed and the gameplay is very deep when it works. It is fair to see why many prefer S.T.A.L.K.E.R. over Metro since it offers an immersive sim-like experience on an ambitious scale for its time, while also having just enough magical elements that keep the universe a little bit of a mystery.
S.T.A.L.K.E.R. trilogy brings a nice collection of classic games that you can buy in a joint package or separately. However, it is a pity that the games are practically in their original state without improvements, and the price is quite high.

S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Legends of the Zone Trilogy – Enhanced Edition brings three iconic PC classics to consoles with a solid and respectful remaster. The atmosphere remains unmatched, and the survival mechanics are still compelling. While some aspects—like gunplay and audio—feel dated, the visual upgrade and full controller support make this a great entry point for newcomers and a worthy revisit for veterans.

S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Legends of the Zone Trilogy is a good pickup for those who are curious as to what all the fuss is about the franchise and how S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 came to be after being so long in development. These are the foundation upon what development outside the Japan-USA norm was built upon, and if it weren’t for the efforts of GSC Game World and a handful of other similar studios like CD Projekt Red, you would not be seeing videogames as they are today. Yeah, the games in this collection can be hard to approach and often don’t seem like they want you to be playing them, but the effort is worth it and there’s plenty of value to dig out for sure.
S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Legends of the Zone Trilogy brings together three classic titles that have shaped the first-person and survival horror genres. The updated visuals and modern quality-of-life enhancements make these games more accessible than ever.
The Stalker trilogy is undoubtedly a good marketing move in view of the upcoming Stalker 2, due in September 2024. Nonetheless, we cannot say that we are facing a true remastered version, but simply a transposition of the original titles on the old and current generation consoles. This is because the improvements made are modest, both in terms of technical and graphical aspects. Nevertheless, this is a trilogy that will be of interest to those who were unable to experience the original titles on PC or who, while waiting for Stalker 2, want to learn more about the plot.
