I find it hard to justify Overwatch as a final product, it feels lacking and without friends I really struggled to embrace what it had to offer - even something as simple as returning to battle after a death felt like a bit of a slog at times. But with friends Overwatch instantly transforms in to a fun, but awkwardly paced shooter on consoles.

Overwatch is the new dimension of competitive play. A step forward in the genre, an hypertrophic heir to Team Fortress: each of the 21 heroes represent a class, and the concept of asymmetrical balancing is just brilliant. On the other side, the game is not that fun if you play it alone, and the absence of ranked match is unacceptable.

A silly, cartoony, extraordinary multiplayer shooter that doesn't want to be more or less than that. Which is just bloody lovely.

It has been a very long time since I've felt this much passion for a game. Overwatch is a perfect storm. It's a new IP, looks gorgeous, plays phenomenally and singlehandedly rekindled my desire to play a genre of game I thought I'd left behind at this point.

Overwatch has the potential to be the most important and influential FPS for this generation. At the moment, it's doubtless the game of this summer.

Overwatch heralds a brave new age for hero shooters, competitive multiplayer shooters and just shooters in general. It's a unique yet fun experience that's accessible to all and flawless with its execution.

Overwatch meshes vastly different ideas and schools of thought into one frantic, exhilarating, layered shooter.

Overwatch is a first-person shooter that oozes personality and charm, but beyond that surface layer lies a deep, tactical game where your most powerful weapon is your brain. If, like me, you've recently fallen out of love with online first-person shooters, play Overwatch long enough for it to deliver one of its many standout moments and you'll be renewing your vows in no time.

Overwatch has been polished to a high sheen by Blizzard. There are a handful of nits to pick, but everything comes together in an extraordinary fashion when it could have just as easily been a mess of half-baked ideas.

Overwatch could very well come to dominate the hero shooter genre. There's plenty of room for improvement around the edges, but the core is strong enough to make this another huge hit for Blizzard.

Blizzard has always excelled at delivering enjoyable games with beautiful presentations, and Overwatch shows that it can extend this talent to genres that it's never visited before. This might be its first shooter, but it's rich with beautiful art and has a remarkable fun factor that you would expect from only the most elite shooter-oriented developers. It's recommendable to just about anyone even if it falters when it comes to solo play. It won't be difficult to invite your friends to come join you, after all.

Overwatch is a multiplayer FPS that has everything to please: a colorful and neat artistic direction, a universe and endearing characters, simple but extremely effective gameplay... This whole thing, combined with the regular updates to come, allows Blizzard to offer us nothing less than one of the great contenders for the title of best game of 2016.

The standards to which Blizzard has us accustomed are truly high and as expected, expectations for the arrival of a completely new franchise were through the roof. Overwatch has captivated many of us since it was unveiled at BlizzCon in 2014, an issue that has been reaffirmed now that we have its final version among us. Absurdly precise controls, memorable characters, brilliant level design, study-worthy gameplay, and a personality that I'm sure many will envy make this experience one of the most enjoyable in recent years.

A great title that only needs to have more content (which is on the way for free) to not have any type of blemish. A vice suitable for fans of action games, but also enjoyed by the less common of the genre.

There's a great balance between depth and accessibility as well as the right amount of reliance on skill, and moments of magic that make Overwatch well worth playing. Combined with Blizzard's penchant for supporting games for longer than usual periods of time, make it one you should definitely check out.
