Developed and published by Blizzard Entertainment, Overwatch brings to the table an accessible style of gameplay with a diverse group of characters. Even with these features, the game finds itself in a crowded world of first-person shooters. The question is… is it enough for Overwatch to distance itself from the other games?

I find it hard to justify Overwatch as a final product, it feels lacking and without friends I really struggled to embrace what it had to offer - even something as simple as returning to battle after a death felt like a bit of a slog at times. But with friends Overwatch instantly transforms in to a fun, but awkwardly paced shooter on consoles.

Blizzard has created a solid team FPS but right now it's light on content.

Overwatch's core gameplay is fantastic, but it's a one trick pony that fails to hold your attention for more than a few matches at a time.

Fantastic lineup and gameplay, but lacks in modes, party options, and a context-providing campaign.

All in all, Overwatch is a great first-person, online shooter that should satisfy every lover of the genre.

Whether you're getting mowed down by Bastion, or invaded by Hanzo's dragons, it's important to keep track of where Overwatch deserves some brownie points.

Overwatch has all the glitz and polish expected of a Blizzard game, with all the usual underlying quality. It is highly unlikely that this game will go under or stop being supported, as well. However, its volume of content is a bit questionable for a game that costs $40 to even play. With that said, every other aspect shines, and is helped heavily by its unique MOBA-esque character system and the ability to switch in the middle of a map. It has been said that new champions and the like will be free, and if that's true, Overwatch will only climb uphill.

An intricately fine-tuned, immediately fun shooter

A decent hero-based shooter that is light on content and heavy on grinding for cosmetics, unless of course you'd like to buy some micro-transactions.

Blizzard's new online, team-based game has a few MOBA-like aspects to mix things up, but it's a rock-solid first-person shooter through and through.

Blizzard's Overwatch is an expertly crafted, awesomely fun, deep, and well-polished team shooter.

It’s a quality-over-quantity approach for Overwatch, and one that works superbly. Blizzard always has long-term plans for its properties, so it’ll be exciting to see how Overwatch eventually evolves, too.

In standard Blizzard tradition, it makes for a gaming system that is accessible to many different types of players, while lacking the ability to reach the real heights in terms of depth and commitment. There are plenty of good and creative ideas here, but for the most part it's about remixes of proven elements polished to perfection.

Despite only a handful of maps, no story, and no ranking system upon release, Overwatch more than makes up for all of that with its masterful focus on teamwork. The game is clearly designed with teamwork at its heart, which is a major strength, but can also lead to frustrations for any lone wolf gamers.

Overwatch is an addictive and well designed team-based multiplayer game with a bright future featuring a remarkably diverse set of classes, though competitive mode currently undermines the light-hearted nature of the game.

Suming up such a title is complicated. Overwatch betrays its "evolving" product nature a bit and it is evident, although blizzard's boys will never admit it, that it was initially conceived as a free to play product, and then changed clothes during the work. At the moment we have in our hands a damn funny video game – and it does not rain on us on this – regardless of the platform in your possession.
