The remake of Silent Hill 2 is a genuine masterpiece. While there are some technical issues here and there, Bloober Team did an exceptional job with the resurrected title's story, voice acting, gameplay, and visuals. Additionally, the attention to detail on display throughout the entire experience makes it a must-play for both returning fans as well as those who are playing Silent Hill 2 for the first time.
The Silent Hill 2 remake is a magnificent work, the result of a development process that not only pays homage to its origins but also strives to expand and enrich them while maintaining their defining aspects.

Bloober Team has succeeded in creating a good remake of a horror classic that respects the original in the most important aspects, but expands it where it makes sense and doesn't change the core ideas.

The Silent Hill 2 Remake is an absolute marvel. It’s ability to remain faithful to just about everything about the original whilst also feeling fresh and exciting is astounding.
Remaking Silent Hill 2 seemed like a thankless and impossible task, and we imagine it was by no means easy, but Bloober Team pulled it off by modernizing a classic of the genre without distorting, rather making it shine in its own light, what made it so special and beloved by fans. The combat - if a tad "heavy" and not always immediate - works great, the already excellent narrative plot has been expanded and is even more harrowing and emotional, the environmental puzzles are rewarding and never become redundant or frustrating, all underpinned by a horrifying, claustrophobic, terrifying and incredibly immersive atmosphere, further enhanced by phenomenal voice acting and stunningly realistic visuals. You will be frightened and have goosebumps, we guarantee, but you will want more and more (although the backtracking is sometimes a bit frustrating and tedious) until you reach the end credits of this disturbing and profound psychological masterpiece, without a shadow of a doubt, among the best of the last decade. Thank you Bloober Team for bringing this 2001 classic back among us!

Silent Hill 2 Remake is a successful recreation by developer Bloober Team, bringing a 23-year-old classic back to life with a whole new look. By staying true to the original while adding new content, the team has created a game that is worthwhile for both newcomers and long-time fans of the series. Long-time fans appreciate the essence of Silent Hill — the slow-burning horror that focuses more on fear, anxiety, and that overwhelming sense of hopelessness rather than a focus on just shooting through monsters, preserved in this remake. However, this experience demands some patience, as this is a game for those who appreciate atmospheric, immersive, psychological horror, along with lots of puzzle-solving, and subtle world-building within the story.
Bloober Team’s Silent Hill 2 is a AAA masterpiece of psychological horror, that doesn't concede even an inch of the oppressiveness and bleakness of the original manifestation. A project that was met with much skepticism, critique and whining, triumphantly brings the series back from the slumber it has been in for the past 12 years and it is a fine example of how to make a modern take while keeping the genre's hallmarks intact.
Silent Hill is a clear example that the kind of game we enjoyed in the late 90s and early 2000s can still be very relevant today if the product is treated with care and respect for what it was designed for at the time. It is not necessary to transform games into something completely different just to seek an audience that may not be reached anyway. By doing things right, you can reach all kinds of players without betraying the foundations laid by the product in question and without also causing discontent among the most loyal fans.

Bloober Team managed to bring the game back to life with very nice visual and sound designs, with an excellent overall voice performances for the characters, and facial expressions that were also at a high level and supportive of what the game wants to present in terms of emotions and connection. In addition to various puzzles full of fun and details, the lack of Arabic language is a negative point in the game, especially for the puzzles, with a modest animation that made the experience less immersive. However, the game's support for the DualSense controller was exemplary.

SILENT HILL 2 is a very worthy remake of the original Silent Hill 2. Bloober Team has managed to capture the atmosphere and psychological horror that made the original game a masterpiece. They have masterfully renewed all the playable elements, maintaining the essence of the original work and expanding the experience to practically double its duration with content that seems typical of the extinct Team Silent. SILENT HILL 2 is an outstanding game that pays an incredible tribute to a classic and offers us a terrifying and brilliant experience, now we want more Silent Hill and from the Bloober Team.

Silent Hill 2 (2024) is a remarkable title, both in its original version and in the remake. This remake by Bloober Team brings a renewed experience in all aspects, which certainly adds a lot when it comes to telling the story. The gameplay has also been updated and is fun, although combat is more frequent than it should be. But overall, the experience is excellent and stands out as one of the best survival horrors of the generation.

Bloober Team shows how to remake an iconic title like Silent Hill 2 while staying true to the original. Silent Hill 2 makes sure you sit completely silent for the entire game because you can't trust any sound, especially when the radio in the game is working overtime with static. Graphically it looks fantastic and the puzzles are challenging. Silent Hill 2 is a pleasure every minute and that is why the hope is that the other parts in the franchise can get the same treatment. This game will definitely walk away with an award in December, but which one that is, remains to be seen. Silent Hill 2 is the best horror game that you must have played this year.

Silent Hill 2 has more than enough modern features to make experiencing it in 2024 hit just as hard as it was praised for doing in 2001. The story still feels unmatched in the genre and the horror is upsetting in ways that feel quite different from some other modern horror titles. Its depiction of real-life horror is handled with incredible skill, using awful realities to benefit its horror without exploiting them or shying away from the realness of them. Combat doesn't have the depth you might hope for and its opening is stretched a bit too far, but it's still an excellent horror experience.
I cannot recommend this enough to fans of the series and anybody new curious about jumping into Silent Hill as a series for the first time with this remake of Silent Hill 2. This is an absolute must play for 2024.
Silent Hill 2 is essential for its unique story, its improvements in mechanics and controls, and its impeccable audiovisual section. The changes introduced respect the essence of the original, but modernizes it. With an iconic soundtrack by Akira Yamaoka that makes it a must-have game for veterans and new players alike.

The Silent Hill 2 Remake is an impressive upgrade of the 2001 original. For new players, this is the perfect opportunity to experience one of the best horror games ever in a modern guise. For fans of the original, it offers a beautiful, nostalgic journey back to the terrifying town that has previously scared the living daylights out of them. Despite the fact that modernizing the gameplay sometimes comes at the expense of the horror aspect, this remains one of the most exciting games you can play. Especially the moments when you walk through dark rooms with the most horrible background sounds stay with you for a long time. It will be a while before I dare to walk through a dark house with a flashlight again in any case. Bloober Team has managed to retain the story, the atmosphere and the psychological depth to a very large extent, which means that Silent Hill 2, even after 23 years, still stands as a very scary house.
