From its first reveal to finally putting down the controller and collecting the Platinum trophy for Astro Bot, it has been a delightful experience that infuses lovely nostalgia with a perfect package of gameplay, design, and a true celebration of the genre and the history of PlayStation. Even with our high expectations, Astro Bot has smashed them to pieces en route to becoming a powerhouse that rivals the all-time classics. This is one of the best games of the year, and everyone who can should find a way to play it.
Astro Bot is a nearly perfect platformer that joyously redefines everything we love about the genre. A must-own title.
Astro Bot is a must-play for anyone who loves platformers. It combines creativity, nostalgia, and fun in a way that’s hard to resist. This game sets a new standard for 3D platforming and is sure to leave you smiling as you enjoy your adventure.
With everything it has going for it, Astro Bot is easily one of the best games of the year.
Astro Bot can be carried by its whimsical joy alone. A wonderful little adventure for a wonderful little bot.
There's pretty much nothing wrong with Astro Bot. Sure, its story is a rather shallow excuse to bounce from one place to another, but the lack of a script is compensated by the fun and crazy surprises. Team Asobi's creation is a versatile, beautiful and, above all, a great platformer for all ages.

Even without the PlayStation references, delightful cameos, and iconic imagery, Astro Bot would still be considered one of the best 3D platformers ever made, but with all these lovely additions scattered throughout this charming adventure, it becomes something even more special. While I cherish those childhood memories of playing Super Mario 64 and Banjo-Kazooie, it brings me joy to know that current players will now be able to cherish their own incredible memories, all due to the masterful adventure Team Asobi has managed to develop.
Astro Bot is a celebration of PlayStation history. With its ingenious level design, innovative use of DualSense functionality, and an abundance of charm and nostalgia, the game offers an experience that is both familiar and refreshing. Whether you’re a longtime PlayStation fan or new to gaming, Astro Bot is an unmissable adventure that showcases the best that PS5 has to offer. A strong contender for GOTY 2024.

It’s been 5 years of the PlayStation 5 and Astro’s second outing on this console is brimming with charm. Whilst the 10-12 hour story is bare bones and the PlayStation theme borders on overbearing, the endearing little Bots more than make up for these slight negatives. Astro Bot feels like a direct continuation rather than a sequel, but this doesn’t subtract from the glorious visuals, smooth gameplay and crisp audio. If you played Astro’s Playroom then you may feel like this is slightly less original, but regardless, the hunt for iconic characters to feel that sense of nostalgia and the special additional levels are a joy for PlayStation fans of all ages!
Astro Bot is a spectacular experience and a successful evolution of the franchise, with varied and creative gameplay that raises the standards of platform games.

Astro Bot delivers on what players have wanted more of since playing Playroom years ago when the PS5 launched. It’s a well designed platformer with a fun mascot character and makes amazing use of the PS5 and DualSense to create a really immersive experience that also looks incredible.
Astro Bot doesn't break new grounds of platformers and collectathons. Whether it needs to is at the discretion of each player. The reality, however, is that this is a highly entertaining title from start to finish, taking us across diverse worlds with stunning audiovisuals as we try to save the other robots, half of which are inspired by the biggest and best-known PlayStation titles. Whether officially or not, Astro Bot is quite simply the mascot of PlayStation, and his new game proves it.

Astro Bot reminded me not only of how much I love 3D platformers but also of how much I love PlayStation—and video games in general. From start to finish, the little robot kept me glued to my PS5 and wouldn’t let go. If you own a PlayStation 5, no matter your age, I highly recommend getting this game immediately. Play it, laugh, and have fun, because there are very few games like this in today’s gaming industry.

Astro Bot is incredibly charming and deeply nostalgic, all the while delivering creativity on par with some of the best Nintendo has to offer. There are a few minor hiccups along the way, but beneath it all there's an undeniable playfulness that will resonate with both new and old PlayStation fans alike.

The new Playstation exclusive softens hearts with its cuteness and technical and design quality, but it also shows how easily companies can grab us with cheap nostalgia for products that, although of quality, are just a display of grandeur disguised as homage.

Astro Bot is a beautiful tribute to the trajectory that PlayStation has covered in its 30 years of existence. It manages to prove that the 3D platform game style is still alive and that, above all, it can have a lot of quality. I can't remember the last time I felt so excited about playing such a simple title, but with so much content. Now comes the real question: "Is this Astro, the new PlayStation mascot?" In my opinion, I think there is no other character as impactful at this exact moment as Astro and, after a game of this caliber, it would be more than fair to place him as the new face of this great company.

Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful. Period. Astro Bot speaks for itself. Given the original Trojan Horse’s success, it’s no surprise that Team Asobi’s complete vision is a triumph, as evidenced by the rating below. While it’s not the most challenging platformer, this Sony title has few rivals in terms of sheer quality and inspiration, thanks to phenomenal artistic direction woven with tasteful fan service. Astro Bot’s strength lies in its ability to captivate through impeccable use of DualSense features, providing an experiential boost that's hard to replicate. After some tough days for PlayStation fans, Astro’s adventure couldn’t have arrived at a better time, showing Sony’s ability to hit the mark while keeping an eye on its past and future.
