Throne and Liberty Reviews
Overall, it’s difficult to give a score for Throne and Liberty based on what I’ve seen so far. I’ve been a bit too quick in the past to judge MMOs based on their leveling experience, where the real game begins when you’ve already invested dozens - potentially hundreds - of hours into the game. As it stands though, I can say that this is a game that I’m excited to play. There’s a real promise in what stands to be a modern successor to one of the all-time greats of the genre, NCSoft’s Lineage 2.
Throne and Liberty delivers impressive character progression systems, buttery smooth and satisfying combat, and captivating story for an MMORPG. It may lack a few features to keep me coming back again and again for more, but it's a thoroughly enjoyable experience
Throne and Liberty has some solid ideas, but it's mostly held up by the combat and exploration, rather than the actual MMO elements.
NCSoft is back with a brave and free MMORPG that still has to polish some elements, especially in its console version.

If you’ve been looking for something that puts the MMO back into MMORPG, this is could be just what you’re looking for.
Throne and Liberty is a visually stunning MMORPG that brings a lot to the table with its lush environments and old-school PvP gameplay. However, its overly complicated mechanics could prove to be a significant barrier for many players.
Throne and Liberty is an ongoing game, so the story could become more fleshed out, the mechanics you use to interact with the world could become more nuanced, and the technical issues could be fixed. But as it all stands now, it's just an okay way to dip your toe into a relatively console-friendly MMORPG that doesn't demand endless amounts of your time for you to enjoy - although there are better games to play with your precious hours. If you're looking for something deeper than that, though, you won't find it here.
Throne and Liberty doesn't do that, at least not yet. The introduction of multiplayer will certainly force me to reevaluate my experience, but for now, I prefer to look at Throne and Liberty as a fledgling MMO that’s laid a lot of good groundwork, but still has a long way to go.
There's no denying that Throne and Liberty is a visual treat and certainly one of the best looking MMORPGs to come along in some time. Furthermore, though its massive world event battles impress, as does its innovative take on shapeshifting traversal, Throne and Liberty's flair-free combat, banal quest design and cluttered UI all weigh down a genre effort that deserves better.
I really enjoy Throne and Liberty’s colorful world, detailed environments, and engaging combat. Though the story is pretty uninspired, the game is technically polished and that alone is worthy of praise. But as a primarily solo player, the game isn’t for me in the long run. That’s not really a criticism, because being built for groups isn’t a bug, it’s a feature. That was true back at the dawn of MMORPGs and sometimes it’s still true. I think Throne and Liberty has a lot of promise to succeed at launch and grow beyond it.
Throne and Liberty from developer NCSOFT and publisher Amazon Games is starting on the right note. The game offers a bevy of content, a fun and complicated backend, and enough motivation to keep exploring and grinding its lands. It does need better direction and connection with quests, as well as balanced PvP. As it stands, the start is good, and the future looks like it could be better.
Throne and Liberty might end up being a fine MMORPG in the long term, but currently, it has little in the way of new or interesting ideas to draw players away from other heavyweights in the genre.
An old school MMO dragged up to a modern standard. NCSoft and Amazon have a distinctly Korean fantasy adventure finessed for a global launch. The result is n enjoyable leap into a vibrant world that is more than worth the total cost of zero dollars down.
Throne and Liberty is an MMORPG that brings back the spirit of the classic games of the genre, while introducing some modern features that give it its own character.

Throne & Liberty is one of the most impressive and refreshing MMORPG’s in years. While it’s easy to initially dismiss it as “just another one of those MMOs,” those that dig deeper may come to realize Throne & Liberty is the perfect MMO to bring them back into the fray. If you have the choice, play it on PC.
Throne and Liberty is a good MMORPG with a well-built narrative, combat and progression system, excellent visual quality, and a vast amount of content to explore for solo players and guilds. Its only limitations come from what one would expect from a free-to-play game and the story that ends up falling into several clichés.

I see that Throne and Liberty offers a solid, fun and content-packed experience, very reminiscent of the more “classic” MMORPGs. However, it also has its differences, which are very welcome.

UI issues aside, I have been enjoying my time with Throne and Liberty, and do plan to play more of it post-review.
Throne and Liberty is a great MMORPG, a very risky bet by Ncsoft and Amazon Games that, if it catches on with players, has all the makings of becoming one of those titles that will be talked about for a long time.
