Mortal Kombat 1: Khaos Reigns Reviews
'Mortal Kombat 1: Khaos Reigns' is an expansion for 'Mortal Kombat 1'. The focus is mainly on the second part of the story. This is full of brutal action, but feels relatively shorter. In addition, it contains six new characters, three of which are available at release.

Mortal Kombat 1: Chaos Reigns expansion will bring you more of the Mortal Kombat story with production quality that even the greatest Hollywood blockbusters wouldn't be ashamed of. With several new characters and many variations of the existing ones, the fun is guaranteed.
Sovereign Kaos is an expansion that adds a lot of content, making Mortal Kombat 1 a more complete game than at launch. The new campaign remains on a high level and the additional content greatly increases the replayability of the game.

Mortal Kombat 1: Khaos Reigns introduces three well-rounded veterans that add even more variety and depth to an already robust roster. The guest characters inject personality into the game, offering you the opportunity to create memorable encounters with iconic figures from video games, film, comics, and television. While the campaign delivers incredible sequences packed with cinematic flair, it falls short in narrative depth. Nonetheless, the game’s engaging combat mechanics, diverse character lineup, and stylish sequences ensure that long-time fans of the franchise will still have plenty to enjoy.
Despite a single player campaign definitely to forget, Khaos Reigns turns out to be a step in the right direction by Netherrealm in terms of balance and roster choices.

For $50, Khaos Reigns expansion does not live up to the standards set by Mortal Kombat 1. The game as a whole is the best its ever been, and if you haven’t played MK1 yet, now’s a great time to jump in with a complete story. As an epilogue to the MK1 story, it does not stand on its own, and after the credits roll there’s only Invasions mode to compete in. Mortal Kombat 1: Khaos Reigns ends the story in an abrupt way that’s rather unsatisfying for what came before it.
Mortal Kombat 1: Khaos Reigns is a great expansion, but held back by its short story.
Khaos Reigns is an expansion that effectively expands the world of Mortal Kombat 1 with a new story and new characters. In addition, the release of the expansion comes with a free update with quite a few new features, including the return of the Animalities. If you are a Mortal Kombat fan and were already hooked on the base game, this expansion will give you a few more hours of exciting fights and gore in the purest style of the series, although the price may be a bit high.

Mortal Kombat 1 Khaos Reigns is a DLC poor in content, which does not justify its excessive cost. The new balance fixes some issues from the past, but there is still a long way to go.

Mortal Kombat 1: Khaos Reigns is not without its flaws but it will appeal to most hardcore fans thanks to strong performance by the actors behind Havik and Noob Saibot, excellently directed cutscenes and the brutal animalities.
Mortal Kombat 1: Khaos Reigns adds a good amount of kontent for MK1. Price concerns aside, the additions of Sektor, Cyrax, and Noob Saibot should be seen as a blessing for MK fans. It remains to be seen about the future of MK1's story and the rest of the Guest Fighters coming soon, but this is a good step in the right direction for a larger-form kontent in year 2 of MK1.
Khaos Reigns in this by the numbers expansion that gives back exactly what you put into it.
Mortal Kombat 1: Khaos Reigns can be interpreted in different ways - on the one hand, it has 3 great characters and a spectacular story, and on the other hand, only 3 characters to start with and a short story.

Mortal Kombat 1: Khaos Reigns is a pleasant enough expansion to the latest Mortal Kombat game. The new characters are a blast to use and the story, while somewhat all over the place, has enough fun moments to be worth a go. If you didn’t dig Mortal Kombat 1 already, this expansion won’t change your mind, but it’s a good time for those who are already into the title.
Mortal Kombat 1: Khaos Reigns offers new characters and guest fighters, but the high price is hard to justify with a short story mode and limited content. The unresolved gameplay issues and lack of replay value make it feel incomplete.
Khaos Reigns is a purchase that we can hardly recommend with our eyes closed without taking into account the target audience. In fact, if you are among the casual players of the title, you may ill digest the brevity of the new story and may not be particularly interested in getting your hands on only a portion of the new kombatants right away. If, on the other hand, Mortal Kombat 1 is your guilty pleasure and you can't resist the prospect of new content, the expansion is a must-have due to very interesting additions to the roster. Either way, there is the cost of the ticket not to be underestimated, in line with the (controversial) pricing policy for this chapter of the series and not exactly cheap. In short: if you approach Khaos Reigns expecting a worthy expansion with a meaty story chapter, you will be disappointed. If, on the other hand, you consider it a kind of “enhanced season pass” with access to six characters (three now, three in the future) and a few hours of entertainment with a new epilogue, you will be pleasantly pleased.

While it's always a pleasure to return to Mortal Kombat 1, the bulk of the combat and plot of this expansion feels a bit decaffeinated. Of course, we are looking forward to seeing the new kombatants arrive.

The content of the new single-player campaign is, at best, average. It's hard to justify the investment of almost R$250 for three good characters, the promise of other future fighters, which we still don't know how they will work, a few skins, arenas and a tiny story mode.

Three additional characters and brutal Animalities are overshadowed by an uneven, head-scratching story expansion.
Mortal Kombat 1: Khaos Reigns is disappointing for those expecting a more exciting story, but the new characters are a cool addition.
