Kingdom Come: Deliverance II is a mastercraft of an RPG, delivering a hyper-accurate recreation of Medieval Bohemia that is oozing charm, finesse and style out of every pore. Featuring an enthralling open world, mastercrafted combat, a superb narrative laden with political intrigue and deception, all brought to life by an amazing score and soundtrack from the excellent Jan Valta that immerses you in the world like never before. You owe it to yourself to pick this one up, as it’s easily one of the greatest video games I’ve ever played.
Arguably 2025’s best RPG video game, Kingdom Come: Deliverance II‘s success stems largely from its humorous meme appeal.
Why its combat has kept me at arm's length from labeling this as a masterpiece, I still found Kingdom Come Deliverance II to excel and innovate in ways the genre has desperately needed in years. In a lot of ways, this is the definitive Bethesda experience that we are unlikely to see from the publisher. Warhorse has delivered a wealth of smart design and function here to craft an absolutely impressive saga that is as brutal as the era requires.
Kingdom Come: Deliverance II brings you back to the lively bohemia, where political intrigues and personal conflicts set the tone. The refined combat system, the rich storyline full of humor, and the impact of your choices make this sequel for both new and returning players a dynamic experience that impresses.

It’s one of those games that keeps me distracted from the main quest, because I know I’ll get that bittersweet sigh when the main plot wraps up and I feel ‘done’ with the game...and then possibly have to wait years for another game to come along and pull me in quite as intensely. Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 is the perfect follow-on from the original, and it tweaks and fine tunes every aspect, from drunken dice battles through to tense and weighty conversations that can easily spiral out of control, and the inevitable myriad scrapes you’ll get yourself into – and have to talk yourself out of! The only downside that I can see is that the pacing of the game, and the deep, incremental levelling up system may be off-putting to some. I am not one of those people.

Warhorse Studios has achieved a textbook “more and better” with this second installment. We will continue to enjoy a Kingdom of Bohemia that immerses us thanks to the good recreation that the company has achieved in its landscapes, its people and the tasks that we can perform. We must learn to fight, we will have to survive in a region where no one gives us anything and choose our actions very carefully so as not to end up biting the dust.

Kingdom Come: Deliverance II is excellent both technically and creatively, presenting us with a memorable Bohemia and great storytelling. The complex and unforgiving mechanics may feel too challenging for some players, but for those who have a flair for this type of experience, it is a must-play and a truly memorable adventure in terms of its sense of freedom, richness of situations, and manic attention to detail.

Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 won’t be for everyone, but if you immerse yourself in its world and mechanics, it will stand out as one of the most unique and compelling RPGs you’d have played.
This isn’t an RPG for everyone. It’s fairly hardcore, it leans into history (albeit out of order) and it is mechanically very dense. What matters most, and after playing a hundred hours of this damn thing and planning on diving back in, is that it’s an RPG for me.
Bigger and more polished, Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 is exactly what I expected from a sequel to one of my favorite RPGs. Its system heavy approach turns even the most mundane action something special. It’s one of those rare games that you will dedicate hours and hours and feel like you only scratched the surface of it. Although its main quest still has some pacing issues, it’s a must play for any RPG fan.

Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 has sold an incredible amount already, and it’s clear to see why. Its rich immersive world is something to behold. Yes, it isn’t without its faults, but those can be overlooked for now when you realise what you have in your hands. Taking control of Henry once again and starting to become attached with the character, you fear death, but you strive to help him grow. With RPG elements that deserve a massive round of applause, you will revel in creating the ultimate Henry. Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 receives the Thumb Culture Gold Award, because it’s just so bloody addictive!
