Date Everything is the blandest game imaginable. Visually, there is little to criticize. The character designs are polished, aesthetic, and cleverly reflect both the characters' personalities and their “object” identities. Add to that an impressive list of over a hundred voice actors, many of whom are well-known and respected names. Unfortunately, where the game should shine, i.e., in building relationships and character personalities, problems begin to arise. The characters are expressive, but often flat and uninteresting in terms of personality. They do not arouse curiosity or emotional involvement. In my case, and perhaps this is a matter of individual sensitivity, none of the characters aroused any sympathy. On the contrary, many of them were simply impossible to like. On top of that, there is a very weak main storyline, which, instead of providing an interesting counterpoint to the dating convention, remains an awkward addition that fails to hold the player's attention.

Date Everything! is a very unique game that stands out from other visual novels. The creative idea, the vast array of memorable characters, the quirky writing, and the beautiful art really help this game shine. While the large amount of content can be overwhelming and the performance issues, along with the bugs, can put a damper on things, none of it really drags the experience down.

I think this game is beyond brilliant. It met my expectations and then some. I honestly cannot recommend it enough, it’s such a wacky, hilarious, entertaining experience, and I think almost everyone would be able to find copious enjoyment from it. Even if dating sims aren’t usually your genre, consider making this one an exception. It’s like nothing else out there, and you’d be missing out on all the deranged shenanigans.

Date Everything is a solid debut for Sassy Chap Games and is one of the better dating simulators I’ve played, down to some sheer creativity and some wonderful choices on the voice cast. It’s pretty hilarious to think about the amount of star power that is here, but when you have some clever writing, a great premise, and some gorgeous artwork and vast replayability, Date Everything is the perfect package to cozy up to and share some quality time with.

Date Everything becomes more than just a fun exercise in “What If?” and more an exploration of what makes us all human. It’s not what we’re made of on the outside, or what we look like. The seemingly innocuous discussions you start to have with these usually unacknowledged and taken for granted inanimate objects start to hold more weight as you realize you forget sometimes they’re just “things.” Using these objects as vessels to tell more stories than these 100 characters ever had the ability to on their own could’ve been used to be blatantly silly and sexual, with the innuendos and puns only there to make you laugh. All of the fantastic voice acting and writing comes together to bring a, yes, very silly (and sometimes maturely themed, if you opt-in to allow the content) game to life. But more importantly, Date Everything really shines when the spotlight is on the interactions between you, the characters, and the world they inhabit.

Date Everything! is certainly unique in its premise. I genuinely wonder how someone even came up with the idea. However, I’m glad they did! Whilst the idea of trying to date your furniture is not for everyone, it is certainly worth trying out the game. The quirkiness of the game really draws you in. While the premise of it seems silly, there is a lot of love poured into the game. Making it a very fun sandbox dating simulator. People should certainly give Date Date Everything! a go, it is definitely worthy of the rare Thumb Culture Platinum Award.

I appreciate the gimmick and the talent in Date Everything, but it isn’t as well executed as other dating sim visual novels.

I was expecting “Date Everything!” to be a jokey dating simulation with little to offer apart from its absurd scenario. Instead, I got a game with heart that tells many varied and interesting stories.

Date Everything! is a pretty crazy idea that turned into an interesting dating sim, packed with content and full of charming characters — thanks to both its witty writing and its quirky, creative visuals. Even though the gameplay loop can get a bit repetitive and there are some rough edges in the controls, it’s one of those unique experiences that only indie games can offer.

Date Everything is a quirky and fun dating simulator with the intriguing concept of dating inanimate objects. The 100 characters you meet are what makes the game entertaining, from their well-done voice lines to their unique character designs, all coming together with the odd but unpredictable and compelling overarching plot and individual storylines. However, it is marred by a few technical lapses and continuity issues that can break immersion somewhat.

If you’re a VA geek, Date Everything is an absolute must-play; I don’t think we’ll ever see another game with this many high-profile performers together in one package. Recognizing the voices of the Dateables you find is a core part of the fun here, in my opinion. But even if you’re not well versed in modern voice performers, this game is still a fun and often hilarious romp.

Date Everything! is a dating sim that knows exactly what it is: funny, absurd, and delightfully meta. It consciously relies on parasociality, almost as an extension of the fandoms that orbit the voice actors it stars in. It doesn’t pretend to be profound, and that’s okay. It’s like dating an enchanted object: weird, fun, and unexpectedly captivating.

Despite being the studio’s debut, Date Everything! nails what makes a visual novel dating sim work—memorable characters brought to life by stellar voice acting, clever design tied to each character’s object identity, layers of wordplay and humor, and engaging progression through limited daily interactions, quests, and text-based minigames, with the only downsides being a lack of new dialogue after reaching an ending and some minor bugs.
