Minor snags have been fixed all over the place, making for a smoother and more accessible RPG, though fans of the original may be mixed on the narrative additions. I hope to see Elma and the gang return someday in the future, as this Definitive Edition is a reminder of how strong their world is.

Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition is an expertly crafted revamp that gives us all the bells and whistles we could wish for in terms of graphical upgrades. However, it's actually Monolith Soft's attention to clever gameplay revisions that impresses most here. This is X streamlined and modernised, carefully recast and reset in order to play better than ever. Additional characters, a new ending, and all that snazzy stuff is all well and good, and fans will be excited by the fresh revelations that occur, but it's in how everything flows so much better now that we reckon the hardcore will find themselves most impressed. And for newcomers a recommendation is even easier; this is up there with the all-time great sci-fi RPGs and an absolute must-play.
Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition is superior to its classic version. The gameplay additions are welcome and streamline the experience, allowing us to invest time where it truly matters, whether exploring or completing the most varied missions. The new story content may be divisive, but for me, it was the perfect conclusion to the game, leaving me intrigued about what to expect for the future of the Xeno series.
And the thing is that Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition stands out for practically the same reasons as its sister installments: fun gameplay, a good story, charismatic characters (although in this work they are not as much as in other titles in the saga) and, above all, a world that is overwhelming to see and explore due to how vast it is. Huge, yes. And also very dangerous, as I mentioned in the analysis. But it is a joy to get lost and discover scenarios, each one more impressive than the last, with scenarios that are the envy of many current open worlds.

If it was already a special game on Wii U, now, thanks to all the changes, new features, and—above all—the epilogue, Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition is also one of the best JRPGs on Nintendo Switch. An adventure as colossal as a giant robot and as unforgettable as an alien planet you don't want to leave.

While the game’s presentation could perhaps use a touch more polish, Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition is an out-of-this-world Switch RPG worth experiencing before Nintendo launches its next hardware.
The combat feels more grounded, the mechanics more approachable, and the plot is more accessible. Plus, the custom outfits. Those really changed the game for me.
Monolith Soft brings back one of Tetsuya Takahashi's most unique JRPGs, originally buried in the depths of Wii U. The absence of the GamePad is amply compensated for by new content and enhancements that refine both the pace of the confrontations and the narrative experience, making the adventure even more immersive. Living up to its name, Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition is the best way to lose yourself for countless hours among the wonders of Mira.

Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition is a wonder to behold on the Switch. It looks stunning and features fantastic gameplay. The choppy, largely uninteresting story continues to be a significant drawback, and there are still some lingering issues with general repetitiveness and party management minutiae, but it otherwise shines like a Mira sunrise.
This well deserved remaster of Xenoblade Chronicles X makes it easier than ever to appreciate one of the best open-world RPGs out there.
