Eternal Strands Reviews
Yellow Brick Games has crafted an engaging game that delivers on action, excels at adventure, and the role you get to play as a budding leader is dynamic and mature, in a pragmatically compassionate way.
Not just magic and swords: in Eternal Strands, the environment itself reacts to your actions, opening up new combat possibilities.

Eternal Strands possesses quite a nice depth and a compelling combination of features to bring you some enjoyable combat. However, the story isn’t something I would speak much of often when discussing the game. Despite that, this game is a great start for Yellow Brick Games and displays the potential the developer has for future projects.
Eternal Strands marks a welcome return to the video game scene for Mike Laidlaw. An action RPG that draws from the best game design lessons of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and Shadow of the Colossus to create a multi-layered interactive adventure that is as galvanizing in its premise as it is satisfying in its execution. Unfortunately, this is not a flawless project, starting with an overly derivative art direction through repetitive quest design and a combat system that is acerbic in its fundamentals. In any case, it is impossible not to greet with applause the ambitious project of Yellow Brick Games, which has the incontrovertible and indisputable merit of wanting to dare something more than the majority of productions in the same genre. And this is no small feat, far from it.

Eternal Strands is a very ambitious title that tries to follow in the footsteps of the greats of the industry, while maintaining its personal brand. At the gameplay level, it offers a combat system that shines more for the use and free combination of magics than for the melee confrontations, which feel decaffeinated.

Eternal Strand is an immense start for Yellow Brick. There are so many perfect parts in this tapestry of ideas from other games, and its approach of letting players explore and figure out ways to use their powers is amazing. There are a few glaring flaws here, but I think it is a case of the rest of it being so good that those weaknesses are put into stark contrast.
Eternal Strands is a great action game with a vibrant world, huge monsters, engaging magic systems, and satisfying combat that establishes Yellow Brick Games as a force to be reckoned with moving forward.
Eternal Strands has so many interesting ideas packed into its world. While none of the mechanics may be perfect, the ambition is clearly present, and that should be celebrated. Every person is sure to find something they love about this game, whether it be the over-the-top boss fights, layered character moments, or creative sandbox combat. I do hope we see more from Yellow Brick Games and Eternal Strands in the future because there’s a rather large spark here that I believe could build into a wildfire next time around.
The team at Yellow Brick covered a lot of ground in this first game, both in scope and physically in game with the number of areas available to explore. They did a lot of good things within their budget but I would love for them to scale back, hone the rougher edges, and focus on making them great. If you’re a fan of experimenting in combat with a charming cast, I recommend Eternal Strands for you. The story won’t move you, and the combat, while at times challenging, isn’t anything new. But if you’re curious, you’ll find the magic that keeps you coming back.
Eternal Strands is an impressive debut from Yellow Brick Games, showcasing not only what they’re capable of, but how to make it all work. With its engaging narrative, easy-to-use magic system, and rewarding exploration, there’s a lot to love here. There’s a lot of familiar ground tread here, but Eternal Strands is appropriately priced and an amalgamation of your favorite games into a tightly packed action-adventure RPG that’s easy to overlook – so don’t miss out.
Eternal Strands is a surprisingly fun and creative experience that encourages players to think and find ways around a situation before engaging. Creativity is greatly rewarded, and players have much to consider before approaching situations. And with a reasonable retail price, it surely is tempting! Despite the great use of its physics-based systems, combat feels slightly dull and weightless, and controls are somewhat finicky. Switching between weapons and strands is unintuitive and counterproductive to the game's goal of having players test every skill and how it affects the world around them.
Combining monster hunting, colossi climbing, exploration, and crafting, Eternal Strands often feels a little ‘lite’. However it’s defining feature is an elemental physics-based magic-system that is a valid competitor to Breath of the Wild. It’s that rare beast that often just sets you free to explore and find your own solutions, and its wonderful when it does.
What Eternal Strands does well, it does really well! The boss battles are highly enjoyable, and deserve to be considered for their own sake. The world is also very well constructed. And what can I say about the soundtrack! However, a little repetitiveness, a lack of rhythm, frustrating deaths and a few minor performance problems mean that the game doesn't reach as high a level as we'd hoped. But let's make no mistake, this is a great achievement for a first game. We'll have to keep an eye on Yellow Brick Games, because they've definitely got a lot of talent!

Eternal Strands is a game that sins by excess. Although it presents an interesting and majestic world, it soon loses its color when we realize that the game is more interested in wasting your time than entertaining you, with long and expository dialogues, bloated missions with complex objectives and, to top it all off, poorly polished gameplay with countless bugs. Eternal Strands still has its positive points in the midst of all this, but at the same time it is full of issues that need to be improved.

Eternal Strands is a beautifully imagined world with a rich story and engaging characters. Exciting combat mixing melee action, and spell casting joy create a fun, but challenging action RPG that is a must have for any action RPG fan.
Eternal Strands shines to be one of the most interesting RPGs with an insane amount of attention towards its design, combat, magic and great enemies. But at the same time, misses the target for their overly buffed storyline and outrageously lengthy quests. The latter part of the game is where you tend to have a lot of fun, so if you’re picking this title, make sure to stick around.
Eternal Strands delivers an enjoyable adventure thanks to its memorable world, clever magic mechanics, and exhilarating Ark battles. Don’t get me wrong, it has some imperfections and there were some elements of the melee combat that offered little you wouldn’t have already seen before, but these issues do little to hinder what is otherwise an engrossing fantasy adventure.
Eternal Strands, the first release from the new studio Yellow Brick Games, features new ideas mixed with the best practices from other genres. Not everything works as planned, but the interaction between environments, weather and magical powers allow for creative gameplay.

Eternal Strands is a bittersweet experience. While we have a very good and consistent handling of the protagonist's magical abilities, the underlying repetitiveness and excessive resource grinding required to be able to continue dampens the enthusiasm generated by the beautiful and colossal boss fights present.
